Chapter !: Mental Madness
'He's such a prat,' she thought to herself, looking at the boy leaning against the majestic castle wall in full sunlight. 'He looks like an angel with the sun reflecting off his wonderful blond locks-' But he's a prat! He teases you, he hexes you. Why are you checking him out? 'Because he's angelicly handsome-' But- '-for an ex-enemy.'
"Hermione, quit ogling Malfoy and lets go to class," Harry said, breaking her out of her mental conflict for the moment.
"What-what-no-I would never. How did you know?" She stammered at him.
"Because I've done it sometimes too. I'd never go after him because I already have a boyfriend and he's not my type."
"Sometimes I don't believe that you are bi," Hermione responded.
"I'm just in a guy mood," Harry laughed.
"So it wouldn't bug you whatsoever if I went after him?"
"No. Just don't force him on me."
"Deal." They shook hands. "Okay off to class!" She exclaimed, linking their arms and skipping.
Walking to his next class, Draco was thinking about someone staring at him. 'But why would she stare at me?' Maybe she was admiring your looks? 'Why do I even care? Its not like she likes me or that I like her.' You do like her you just don't want to admit it. 'No, I don't. And I can't. Its against the code.' You mean the code that was broken last year when the Dark Lord was defeated? 'Yeah... that one.' Hmm, interesting.' "Just shut up," he muttered.
"I wasn't even saying anything, Draco," his best friend, Blaise, responded after suddenly popping up next to him.
"Shit! You scared me, man."
"I know."
"And you know I hate it. So you keep doing it," Draco said, irritated.
"So what was the argument about this time? Me? A crush on a certain Gryffindor that I will not name? What?" Blaise asked, ignoring Draco's irritated tone.
"None of your business."
"Ah. Granger it is then. What happened?"
"She was staring at me again."
"You know you can ask her out now, right?"
"Its against the code."
"Damn it Drake, the code is dead! Get it through your thick skull and ask her out!" Blaise yelled at his obviously dense friend.
"Her friends hate me. Hell, she hates me."
"No, they don't. We've been getting along with everyone at this school after the war ended. Hell, I'm dating Harry Potter!" Blaise roared at him. "I mean, seriously, even the Weasel is less dense than you sometimes about this sort of stuff."
Somewhat of a cliffhanger but not that bad of one; what do you think? This was originally going to be the prequel to The Talent Show but its started to morph into something else. -sinsrfun10
