"Umm, Big brother?" she questioned hesitantly.
The man in question looked up from his article on gun safety.
"Yes?"
He knew she wanted something. Could tell by the way she wrung her dress in her hands. She was probably even physically shaking.
'It's hard to take her serious when she acts like this' Vash thought 'Does she realize that acting so darn cute almost completely took away his will power? Well, He could pretend to be the stoic big brother. Not like it was an easy task, but he tried to take what she had to say seriously.
She was in visible inner turmoil but gathered her courage to go on.
"Ah, I was wondering if I could maybe possibly, maybe sometime…Please Big Brother."
'That was awful cute.'
"Um" ' well, that sounded intelligent.'
"I really want to… So could I, Big Brother? I'll be really good!"
'Did I miss something here? Great. Now I'm going to hurt her feelings if I act like I don't know what she's talking about.'
"Ah, that…" He trailed off.
He put his hand to his chin and appeared to be thinking really hard. He even shut his eyes, nodded his head and threw in some 'hmm's.
With every second that ticked by, she began to lose hope. She had her gaze downcast and prepared for the rejection.
'What was I even thinking? This was a bad idea. He's going to say no, I jus'-
"Yes"
Her head shot up.
"What?"
"er, Yes. To the question… you asked. I said yes" he looked quickly in the other direction.
She just stood there for a second, processing what he had said but then a smile burst out on her face.
"Oh, thank you, Brother! I won't disappoint you!" She gave him a sudden hug and practically ran from the room. He was still blushing lightly when she left. He let out a huge sigh of relief and slipped back into his chair, and now that he was alone he was mysteriously zapped of energy.
"Good Job, Big Brother"
