A full moon hung in the night sky, casting a bright glow down upon the wildness. Accompanying the moon, small dotted white specks painted the inky black sky, the odd racing across the endless void of darkness. A few dark clouds their shape outlined by the moons soft glow floated towards the only main source of light, as if they knew what was about to happen in the crisp forest. Deep within the dense forest walking silently below were four cats each one varying in colour and size, but the one thing these cats had in common was their desired to kill.
The first a she-cat with light tabby markings, with a pure white underbelly which was covered in a fine layer of mud and dust. Taking the lead her yellow eyes glowed like a beckon in the dead of night, as she carefully picked her away through the undergrowth. With every step she took her muscles flexed under the tabby coat, and her razor-sharp claws sunk into the soft mossy earth and she travelled. It was clear to all that she was the leader.
A leaf-bear chill blew through the forest, bringing the scents of many different cats gathered in one single place. The wind brushing her fur in a backwards stroke, her ear twitched against the cold blast of wind. Following closely behind her, was a second cat. A tom.
The tom looked somewhat similar to the she-cat most likely littermates, however he was a great deal bigger than her and his tabby coat was a few shades darker than hers. Like his leader his muscle ripped as he padded onwards, his narrowed yellow eyes flickered in every direction making sure they wouldn't be caught before the mission had really started.
Behind the first two cats were two more felines, again both were toms. The first was as black as an endless void of darkness, his fluffy pelt puffed out against the cold winds as it raced on past the group. Every so often he would shiver as the chilling leaf-bear wind blew past them and manage to penetrate his thick fur and touch his warm skin, it was clear to any other woodland creature or cat that these four were not born and raised in the surrounding territories. The final tom was taking up the rear and every so often glaring at the shivering black cat in front of him, his amber eyes rolling every time he hissed in complaint. This tom was much like the third cat his pelt was completely black apart from the faded dark brown stripes. As the group approached a small running stream his amber eyes lit with mischief.
Suddenly as the pure black tom was about to jump on to a smooth rock which was stood in the middle of the stream the last tom sped up his pace and pounced landing square in the middle of the stream. This resulted in freezing cold water to be splashed up on to the unexpecting black tom who yelped in surprised and slipped of the rock and into the water, drenching the rest of his fluffy fur. Finding the outcome funny the tom started sniggering before jumping up to the water ledge and watching amused as his companion dragged his water-logged self out of the stream. Spotting the other cat laughing the tom drew back his lip in a snarl, and bunched his muscles together as if he was about to pounce and settle the score.
However before anything could break out between the two, in stepped the only she-cat whose yellow eyes showed pure anger. It only took one look from her to stop both tom's dead in their tracks, neither one wanted to spark a conflict between the she-cat for she was their leader and would kill at those who disobeyed her. Shaking his fur out he made sure to spray his companion with the cool droplets, before padding on past the other, but not before giving him a quick shove making him stumble a little. The group carried on after the little fiasco before coming to a stop under some brambles. The brambles caught in the fluffy pelt of the black tom who hiss when they ripped into his skin. This was clearly not his night. This earned yet another mow of laughter from the black and brown tom.
Being glared at again, this time by the muscular tom who stood proudly by his sisters side, the two stopped their glaring match and resumed to peering out from under the brambles. A good few fox lengths away stood four massive boulders with the moon light pouring down onto their smooth surfaces. Around the boulders was a sandy clearing surrounded by tall thin tress on all sides, a small stream ran through the clearing and disappeared into the trees the opposite side from where they were. Atop the four different boulders four single cats sat addressing the large number of cats below each spoke with authority and confidence making the large group of gathered cats listen.
Another chill blew past the four gathered cats but this time the black tom didn't flinch, all four-stood watching the group of cat's debate and cheer amongst themselves, waiting silently for the time to come. Growing bored and wondering how much longer they had to sit and wait for this ridiculous meeting to end the brown and black cat spoke. "So, when are we actually going to do something?" his paw scuffed the ground waiting for a reply. Harsh yellow eyes found his muscular body and bored into him. His ears flattened out and he quickly looked away.
"Soon, very soon." The darker tabby growled, glancing between his friend and the she-cat, who was now glaring at him too.
"I told you to be quiet, why don't any of you listen!" she hissed, unsheathing her sharp claws. Small little razor-sharp claws shone in the moon light, and her cold gaze fixated on the two toms before her. The three were interrupted with their little fight, when a twig snapped, quickly clamping her jaw closed and ducking her head, behind the bramble, the four waited in silence as a curious kitten in their point of view walked out into the open patch of land where the bramble bush they were hiding under was located.
The kitten whispered something to a friend who was following close behind, their friend studied the bushes before whispering something back to the other. The two returned after agreeing nothing was out there and the she-cat let a breath of air. She sat back up and glared at the two before returning to watch as the four leaders saying their final good byes and jumped off their respected boulders little did they know, this would be the final time ever speaking to each other before their untimely accidents. The she-cat flicked her ear signalling for the small group to hide as the larger groups of cats branched off and into their own territories.
A small smirked, passed the she-cats mouth. A few rouge teeth poked out from her jaws, brownish yellow in colour. "It's time." She watched as the groups off cats walked off unexpected that they just passed by four deadly felines waiting for their next kill. Scampering out from under the bramble bush, she hissed as one scratched at her body her yellow eyes watched as one group headed up towards the mountain. Her three companions soon joined and between them they each shared one last look at each other, before heading off into separate directions.
The she-cat heading after the mountain group. The black tom padding off towards the boulders and into the territory the other side. The darker tabby jumped into some nearby flowers which masked his scent. Then the last brown and black tom headed off into the tall pines scattering pine needles as he went.
