One of my friends rote this and wanted me 2 put it up here.
Tigerkit poked his head out of the nursery. Inside, his mother was fast asleep, her other two kits at her side. Now was a perfect opportunity to go outside.
Though young Tigerkit always followed his parents rules and obeyed the warrior code, he couldn't help but want to go out on his own. Every time his mother took he and his sisters out, it was like a fieldtrip to the museum. Stay with the tour guide and paws to yourself. And besides, there was no specific rule about leaving the den alone; it was kits leaving the camp alone that was discouraged.
Once outside, Tigerkit paused to look around. There was only one cat outside, and it was the great tom that he recognized as his father.
Hooktail was sitting alone by the gorse tunnel, finishing the remains of a scrawny finch.
Tigerkit quickly padded over to him on awkward, clumsy feet. His fathers ears had turned to listen to him long before he arrived at his side, thus the tom was not surprised to see the kit at his paws.
"Hello, Tigerkit," he greeted softly. Though his expression was stern and serious, kindness was visible in his striking blue eyes.
"Hello, dad!" Tigerkit mewed upward.
The tom gave his son a gentle lick on the head. "What brings you up so early?"
"I woke up," the kit said simply, shrugging. "Mom is still asleep."
Hooktail glanced over to the nursery entrance, where no cat stirred yet. "Best not worry her. Go on back before she wakes and gets worried."
Tigerkits ears drooped a bit. "Yes, dad."
He slowly began to walk back to the nursery, unaware of Hooktail watching him the whole way.
The young kit wanted so much to be like his father; brave, smart, noble. He wasn't quite sure he could do it, but he'd try alright. He'd be the best apprentice ThunderClan could ever hope for, then he'd become an astonishing warrior. He'd prove himself on the battelfield, promote to Clan deputy, and someday be a true leader. Why, if he could do just that… Yes. It had to be done; "leader" was his ranking, and he'd accept no less. Should any cat ruin those chances… well, he'd deal with them.
