Long ago, in a developing kingdom, known as Dragonie, there lived a Princess, named Delta Helene. She was beautiful and was the envy of all other royalty. Every eligible gentlemen were enthralled with her beauty, and her kind heart. She was humble, however, and ruled over the kingdom with her mother, Queen Angelica Helene, with a delegate touch.
One day, she did find love in a suitor brought to her by her mother. At first, Delta wanted nothing to do with the young Prince Alexander Vergara, for she thought every prince brought to her attention wanted one thing and one thing only: the crown of a king.
But Prince Alexander had proven himself to the young princess, showing his true colors and heart to her of kind nature and gentle eyes. He even told her that when they met, he thought she was beautiful and that was one big factor of his future bride, but at the same time, he wasn't sure if he was in love with her right away.
Eventually, after days, even months, of getting to know each other a little bit better, Alexander asked Delta to take his hand in marriage, and to become his queen. Which she indeed said yes to and soon enough, they had an heir of their own. A little girl, with her mother's raven colored hair and her father chocolate brown eyes.
But when the young princess was 5-years-old, tragedy struck as an evil force came to Dragonie and terrorized the whole of the kingdom. Delta used some of her inherited magic to stop the black shadow of evil, but it wasn't enough. Everyone was brought out to protect the kingdom, even the new king Alexander came out, and with his training, fought to protect his family and people.
While that happened, Delta tried to get herself to safety with her little girl in tow. The little princess tried to keep up with her mother as they ran down the streets of Dragonie to get to safer place, only to lose the grip of her mother's hand, scream, and fall down with a rough hit to the head from a rock, which in turn knocked the young girl out.
Delta, not realizing she lost her daughter, ran into a little hut where she saw her personal assistant sitting at a desk with tears falling down her cheeks. The girl began to tell the queen the battle was over, the evil was vanquished, but the king had perished.
The queen tried to cope and went to tell her daughter everything would be fine, but soon had found out that she was gone too. She quickly ran out of the hut with her assistant right behind her and looked around, hoping to find her daughter immediately. But the only thing she found of her, was her daughter's teddy bear.
Queen Delta Vergara not only lost her husband and king, but her daughter as well. Still, a mother's intuition never misguided them before, and she just had a feeling that her little girl was still alive, still safe, and one day...she would find her again.
~18 YEARS LATER~
(SONG: "A Rumor in St. Petersburg" – Anastasia) [Lyric change]
The Kingdom of Dragonie stood tall and pleasant, as Queen Delta stood on her balcony, a melancholy grin on her face. She could see the Mushroom Kingdom across the skyline, making her grin turn into a small smile. But her eyes told another story. The story of her missing daughter.

(End of the song)
Ebony Lockheart walked back into her little hut and grabbed her violet colored purse and keys before heading out again. She walked down the streets of the kingdom, smiling the whole time as she stopped every once in a while at little outlet stores to see their wears. One place caught her attention, for it had a little dragon figurine in the color of purple, her favorite color of all.
"This is so beautiful," she spoke to herself as she picked up with a gentle hand. The store owner looked at her and smiled before walking up to talk.
"Thank you, your highness," he said, making Ebony look at her with her brown eyes shining in confusion, which also made him look on in surprise and embarrassment for his stupid mistake. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I thought you were our queen."
"Trust me," began Ebony with a sweet smile. "I get that a lot. How much for this little guy?"
"For you...on the house," said the store owner.
"Oh, no, I couldn't possibly have it for free!"
"I insist."
"Well, then...thank you. Thank you so much," Ebony smiled at him before bowing her head slightly as a way of respect before walking away. The man behind the counter watched with a puppy dog expression, and hearts in his eyes.
"Hello," a sweet voice spoke up as Ebony was looking at something on a shelf. This made her jump and look to her left, seeing a blond haired beauty in pink staring back at her. "I just have to say how beautiful this kingdom is."
"That's sweet of you to say," began the young raven haired girl. "Make sure you tell the queen that if you ever see her."
"I will definitely do that," the blond said with a smile. "I'm Peach Toadstool, ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom."
"Oh, you're a princess!?" Ebony yelled as she curtsied towards her. "It's honor to meet you. I am Ebony Lockheart, one of the local orphans."
"Orphans?" Peach asked confused. "But you look like you're in your 20s!"
"I am. 23," Ebony began as she stood straight. "But I'm still an orphan. I was found passed out on the street when I was five. I don't remember anything before that."
"Oh, how sad," said the young blond with sympathy. "I'm so sorry to hear."
"It's fine," began the raven haired girl. "I just live life, wondering if I'll ever remember."
"Well, I hope you do," Peach had noticed someone behind Ebony and grinned towards the young girl for a moment. "I have to go. It was nice meeting you Miss Lockheart. I hope to see you around." And with that, Peach walked out of the shop and towards Mario, who took her hand and lead her to the carriage, where Luigi was standing, talking on his phone.
"So did you have a safe trip?" a voice spoke on the other end of his phone.
"Yeah, hon. We made it," Luigi said with a smile. "How's Moonview doing?"
"It's doing," said the voice. "But I think I can handle a small bit of red tape that comes with being Princess."
"You sure, sweetheart?"
"Dad, I'll be fine. You just go meet Queen Delta with Uncle Mario and Aunt Peach. I'll call if I need anything."
"Okay, sweetie. I love you," Luigi said with a smile. "You're mother would be proud."
"So you keep saying," said the voice with a giggle. "I love you, too, dad. See you whenever." And with that, he hung up with his daughter and sighed, a smile on his face.
"Was that Luna?" Mario asked, gaining Luigi's attention.
"Oh, yeah," he answered. "She's taking over Moonview for the time being while I'm here."
"Abella would be proud," Mario said back with a grin as he got into the carriage, with Luigi following suit after taking a deep breath.
Ebony walked out of the shop after a moment and sighed to herself, before heading towards the park at the other end of the kingdom. She walked through the grass and saw the big fountain in the center with the water flowing from the top. Closing her eyes, she could smell the scent of salt in the air, as a grin formed on her face.
(SONG: "Journey to the Past" – Anastasia)
Ebony sat on the fountain ledge, letting the moment sink in as her black hair blew in the gentle breeze of Dragonie, as foreign thoughts of a family she once had entered her memory.
EBONY: Heart don't fail me now/courage don't desert me/don't turn back/now that we're here/people always say/life is full of choices/no one ever mentions/fear/or how the world can seem so vast/on a journey/to the past.
After a while, Ebony stood up from her seat at the fountain, and walked down the path to a small rose garden on the outside of the castle that was near her now.
EBONY: Somewhere down this road/I know someone's waiting/years of dreams just can't be wrong/arms will open wide/I'll be safe and wanted/finally home where I belong/well starting now/I'm learning fast/on this journey/to the past.
As she stood in the garden, she absent mindedly touch the little dragon shaped pendant around her neck like it was her lifeline and a hidden memory she wished would resurface.
EBONY: Home/love/family/there was once a time I must have had them too/home/love/family/I will never be complete until I find you!
One step at a time/one hope then another/who knows where this road may go/back to who I was/on to find my future/things my heart still needs to know/yes/let this be a sign/let this road be mine/let it lead me to my past/and take me home/at LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST!
(End of the song)
