"Hatchet" vs. "A Cry in the Wild"

There are many differences and similarities of the book Hatchet and the movie "A Cry in the Wild". Such as, Brian's crash into the water was described very similar and a difference would be that the mountains described in the book were not as high as they were viewed in the movie. In further detail I will explain this.

Many similarities follow the book to the movies. For instance, the crash that occurs with Brian is in the plane and goes into the water is described in the book and movie very similar because they both had an "L" shaped lake, there was no fuel left when the plane crashed, and Brian had to kick the window out to emerge from the plane. Another similar detail was both book and movie provided many of the same details of the tornado crash that caused him to restart his building.

Some of the differences from the book to the movie were that the mountains described in the book were not the same as the ones described in the book. The book explains them to be more like a hill, while the movie shows large, Rocky Mountains that are very high to the sky. Another difference I noticed that instead of the moose that attacks Brian in the book, there was a black bear in the movie that attacks Brian.

My opinion on reading the book, "Hatchet", or watching the movie "A Cry in the Wild", I would prefer to watch the movie. The reason I liked the movie more was because the action and the display was more appealing to my likings. I felt reading the book I was not always interested or excited by the authors words. I learn more through the book by reading, but enjoyed the visual by watching.

In conclusion both the book, "Hatchet", and the movie, "A Cry in the Wild", were both very good. Both showed many similarities and many differences, but in all I enjoyed reading and watching them. Brains character showed me ways that you can survive in the Canadian wilderness. These finding I hope will help me in my future.
