He met her when he was still just average. A normal human, a dull desk job. A few dates here and there.
He was seated at his desk, busy with some paperwork when he heard her voice.
"Mr. Singh, isn't it?"
He finished what he was writing and lifted his eyes to meet her gaze. He blinked slightly. She was lovely. None too tall, but not too short, either. Platinum blonde hair just barely past her shoulder blades. She was wearing a rather uncomfortable-looking gray shirt, tucked into her matchingly gray pencil skirt.
"Yes," he answered smoothly.
"Your boss wants to see you in his office," she said, starting to step away from him.
"And how would you know that?" he asked, suspiciously.
"I was just in there," she replied. "Mr. Timling asked me to tell a Mr. Singh to see him in his office. Said you'd be in the one incredibly bare cubicle." She gestured awkwardly to the walls of his cubicle. "Bare cubicle and your name on the panel just outside your door."
He nodded. "May I ask why you needed to see Mr. Timling in the first place."
She lifted her eyes to the ceiling annoyedly before she responded, "No, no you may not," and walked out.
