An exhausted Temperance Booth shot a smile at her husband and stepson. They smiled back.
"She's so beautiful," Angela Hodgins told the Booths.
"Thanks," Seeley said.
"What's her name," Zack asked, finally noticing the date.
Today was May 12th, 2011-Three years to the day Seeley Booth had been shot protecting the love of his life.
Seeley and Temperance had admitted their feelings for each other the next day, on May 13th, 2008. Booth had proposed six months later, and Temperance had accepted.
Temperance Brennan had become Temperance Booth on May 13th, 2010-The second anniversary of when they became a couple. Their first anniversary was tomorrow.
"We're not telling you yet," Booth sing-songed.
The six months pregnant Angela glared at them while eleven month old Lola Temperance Hodgins babbled in her father's arms.
"Please tell us," Rebecca begged.
"We need to know," Caroline Julian whined.
"You'll find out soon," Temperance promised.
"Do you have a name," Hodgins asked suspiciously.
"Not yet," Booth confessed guiltily.
"You're lying," Sweets accused.
"Seeley, let's just tell them her name," a drowsy Temperance whined.
Booth laughed at his wife. "Bones, if you're tired, just go to sleep."
"I'm staying awake," Temperance insisted.
"Tell us her name," Cam said.
"Fine," Booth sighed.
"Yay," cried the lethargic Temperance. Everyone stared at her.
"I was in labor for twenty-nine hours," she pointed out.
"Everyone, we'd like you to meet Hope Faith Booth," Seeley announced.
"That's pretty," Cam conceded.
"Why'd you choose it?" Zack asked.
Temperance smiled, but yawned. "Her name is Hope Faith because I needed both when Booth was shot. And since she was born on the anniversary of one of the worst days of our lives, we decided to go with that," she answered.
"Hope is a pretty name," Angela said.
"How much did she weigh," Parker asked.
"Eight pounds, five ounces," Booth told the nine year old.
Everyone gathered around and held Hope Booth for a few minutes. Temperance fell asleep while Caroline had Hope, and woke up in the morning to see her husband holding their daughter.
"How is our little Hope?" Temperance asked him.
"She misses her mommy," Booth answered and carefully handed their daughter to his wife.
"Happy anniversary," Temperance said.
"Happy anniversary, Bones."
Hope cooed in her mother's arms.
Temperance and Seeley smiled at their daughter.
As Temperance sang "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" to Hope, Booth reflected on the fact that May 13th was now the best day of his life instead of the worst.
The End
This is my third tag. I had a fourth one, but I threw it away because I didn't like it. I came up with this idea this morning after my most likely 50th view of the last scene. I can't stop watching it. That last scene might be replaced by the Supernatural and Office finales tonight, but I'll probably still watch it over and over again.
