Disclaimer: Me no own. Tite Kubo-san does. Point taken. Gin X OC Review~!
Those 3 wordsHe was alone. Solitude.
She was in the room. Her life hanging by a spider thread.
He was crying.
She was 'sleeping'.
Gin knew that Amane was dying. Nothing could save her.
He could have made it in time. But no Matsumoto had to hold him back.
~Flashback~
Blood stained every solid object surrounding her.
"Help" it came out of her mouth relentlessly. Even the most monosyllabic word made it hard for her to say, helplessness laced in her tone of voice. Crimson spilled out endlessly.
"This is the end…" she thought.
Amane.
Who's that?
Amane!
That voice… It's so familiar…AMANE!
Gin-sama?He could not help but to wince at the sight of her.
Amane's usual flawless skin was covered in blood, cuts and bruises. Her uniform was shredded. Her limbs were revoltingly twisted at odd angles.
Gin carefully cradled her in his arms. Ominous aura surrounded him. He glared daggers at the Menos Grande.
"You hurt her. AND NOW YOU'RE GOING TO PAY!"
With just one swing of his zanpakutou, the Menos Grande was instantly decapitated. Its head fell onto the bloodstained ground and burst into millions of miniscule particles along with its body.
The first sign of sadness and sorrow appeared with just one drop of tear. And it gradually increased.
"AMANE! DON'T DIE ON ME!" he was scared, afraid, frightened. There was nothing he could do except to run back to Soul Society at a neck breaking speed. He had to save her. No matter what.
~End of flashback~
Gin buried his hands into his hair. He didn't know what to do.
Her life is in danger. We don't know when she may die. Only time can tell. Our sincerest apologies…
"Apologies my ass…"
He was so confused. He couldn't breathe. He was drowning. It felt like the air around was asphyxiating him. He couldn't think straight. And as if pulling on the thin strands of hair would help.
Gin stared at the whitewashed ceiling, trying to catch his breath and to clear his mind.
It all depends on her will to live.
What if she doesn't want to live? No. He had to get rid of the thought.
Getting off his seat, Gin entered the ward.
~*~
She was there, lying with bandages covering every inch of her body except her head.
Gin sat on the cold chair beside the bed, his face buried in his hands.
He was crying again… His heart was way down in the abyss.
But what could he do? Nothing. Nothing at all. Except maybe wait for some sort of miracle to appear at his doorstep.
No such luck.
He caressed her hair lovingly, admiring every tress of auburn.
He couldn't take it anymore. That was killing him.
He lay on the side of the bed. Hands crossed and his head on top of them.
A few moments later, a monotone beep reverberated throughout the compact room.
"I-It couldn't be… no. No! NO! Don't die on me!" the same words, the same tone. It was suffocating. But he knew that it was too late.
"I love you…" those were the three words that he had been longing to say…
One of Amane's tear dropped dry…
It went unnoticed…
