"Remember that story I told you Aubrey?" The flashlight lit Derrick's solemn and pale face; the rest of the room was pitch black. He leaned forward, his blue eyes glittered with white as he looked into me.

I nodded slowly, not wanting to remember, but the memories flooded back anyway. It had been yesterday when Derrick had told me the story of "unwanted activity". The story mentioned paranormal things happening all over the world. At first I thought these stories weren't true, but then Derrick pulled out a newspaper stating the same stories he had told. I had my superstitions, but as I sat on the floor of his room, certainty crept in me that he was telling the truth. Like most truths, it wasn't pretty.

"Well Im afraid–" Derrick looked around cautiously as if someone might be hearing, than he leaned closer so that his darkened blue eyes were the only thing I saw. He spoke in a soft murmur, "Im afraid its coming, its coming for me."

I didn't know what to say. It was clear Derrick had gone over the edge, and was now crazy and paranoid. He was taking this paranormal thing way to far. I nudged him, so that I had breathing space, than it fell silent.

A faint crackle sounded from outside Derrick's window, and we both whipped our heads toward it, seeing nothing but the blurry fog. This was crazy and I had to get out of here, Derrick's presence made everything seem on edge and spooky. I swiftly got up, but Derrick's hand quickly pulled me back to the ground to sit next to him.

"Don't move" he whispered. "Its here."

My head spun for the millionth time, wanting so badly to run out of here.

Then it happened.

A pressure hit my chest, and the world became dark and lonely.
