I totally got this idea from the song Two is Better Than One by Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift. It basically based on Preston Castle (if you've seen it online) and somehing growled in Jackie's ear in the kitchen. I don't know how I came up with this but here you! =]

KC's POV

Creepy place. Darkness. Alone. One of the situations I hated most. I looked around at the shadows that the ovens made. The window that hung on the wall behind me had been a very suspicious place. I was here to try and catch that and possibly the thing that growled in Jackie's ear. I peered through the archway at the end of the kitchen leading into the infirmary. Seeing Riley walking around seemed to make me feel a little bit better. I turned my body back into the kitchen. I stopped dead in my tracks; the shadow was there. I knew I didn't have any time to notify base camp or Riley; I needed to start some call and response. I kneeled down on the cold concrete floor and turned my voice recorder on. I began speaking faster, intending to get as much evidence as possible.

"Hello spirits. If you are here, my name is KC and I'm here just to investigate. Could you tell me your name?"

I could've sworn I heard someone breathing so close to me that it was scary that I couldn't feel any air down my neck.

"Could you please give me a sign?"

I sat still shaking with fear, in a split second I began to scream. I suddenly heard several heavy bangs as if oven door were being slammed opened and closed. And out of the corner of my eye, I saw one of the oven doors open. Then it was all suddenly silenced. I removed my hands from my head that I had used as an effortless attempt to protect myself from the unknown. I looked up from the dark ground. Suddenly I heard footsteps in the hallway next to the kitchen. I let out another scream and heard the footsteps picking up in pace. My eyes were locked on the steps that led in to the kitchen. A dark figure suddenly appeared. I quickly recognized him as Riley.

"KC!"

I could feel the tears of worry wetting my cheeks. I staggered to my feet and ran to him. I threw my arms around him and began to sob. It was very comforting to feel his arms around my back.

"T-t-the ovens." Was all I could say from behind my tears. From my left ear, I heard Riley's walkie-talkie beep in from base camp. I couldn't understand what either Riley said or Zack said, who was back at base camp. I felt one of Riley's arms leave my back. I guessed that he was looking around with the thermal camera. I had calmed my sobbing down enough to hear what Zack said when he radioed back to us.

"So what's going on?"

"I'm not getting much activity. I think we should just call it a night." Riley responded. To my relief, Zack agreed. It didn't take long for me and Riley to get back to base camp with how scared we were. Everyone was back at base camp when we walked in. Zack was busy taking down base camp.

"Okay, so let's go and get the cameras." Sam said, walking out of base camp. Jackie followed him. I waited a few moments, and turned to follow Jackie, but I stopped about 5 feet ahead of my previous spot. I turned around and looked at Riley who was helping Zack take down base camp. I grabbed his hand and pulled him aside.

"I'm never going on a solo sweep again." I whispered to him.

"Well you might have to in the future; our goal is to..." he tried to say, but I pressed my index finger against his lips.

"Two is better than one, Riley." I said, and gently pressed my lips against his.
