Ciel's P.O.V
Embers. Blood.
Those beautiful luminous ashes that clashes with crimson scars my eyes… Is that all you can leave behind, Elizabeth? I brought my slender fingers to my cheeks and felt something wet. Am I crying? No. It's just rain that was threatening to descend from the heavens. You're my fiancé…
And yet, why am I not sad that you're no longer in this world?
Perhaps it is because I was devoided of my emotions years ago… All I can do now, is to mourn over your death… to feign despair…
~Flashback~
Bright ocherous and ashes were the only particles that were prominent. The air seemed to be moving along with the blazing heat.
"S-Sebastian!" I managed to cough out, totally ignoring the annoying the cries of Elizabeth beside me.
The sounds of heavy wood collapsing resonated throughout the room.
The cries to my butler went unheard.
I swathed a blanket around Elizabeth and myself. Hoping that somebody would rescue us.
Smoke infiltrated our noses as we tried to keep ourselves as close to the ground as possible.
"Ciel, are we going to die?" I refused to answer, in an attempt to keep my hopes high.
Of course, my efforts were futile.
I clung onto the blanket till my knuckles turned white, hearing the sound of wood breaking each passing second.
Would I survive this?
My navy eyes widened as we heard a creak above us.
Tilting our heads to the ceiling, I was so sure that that was the end.
Unfortunately or fortunately, Elizabeth shoved me away from the crumpling ceiling.
Piles and piles of fire-covered concrete crashed onto her frail frame, crimson splattering on my face and ground.
My face remained stoic. It felt like it was her duty to protect me.
I watched as her body slowly disintegrates into cinders…
~End of flashback~
I took some of her ashes in my hands and let the wind carry it away.
"Sayounara… Elizabeth… We'll never meet again."
A single tear dropped.
