Romano stares up blankly at the ceiling, trying to ignore the slight throbbing in his head. He's gotten used to it by now; ever since the explosives mishap with Germany and Hong Kong, when he was injured, his head has been in some sort of pain. It had been decreasing, however, before that incident with him, Prussia, and that duplicate Prussia inside that lab room. After that, it had come right back, along with the occasional bout of body-wracking pain.

He had no idea what they'd done to him there. He doesn't really remember much other than being knocked out. He knows they did something to him, though.

He grits his teeth as he starts to feel a slow wave of pain overtake his body. He clenches the sheets, jaw set, trying to fight back tears forming at his eyes.

He hates this. He wants to go home. He wants to get out of this stupid place with his brother and Spain, who the cloned Prussia had informed him had entered this place with Finland, and have this place just become a bad dream. He wants them to come and rescue him, get him out of this hellhole.

He knows it won't happen, though.

They aren't coming.

Romano has no doubts whatsoever that they will not be coming to find him. After all, why would they? It's not like he's Veneziano. He's not cheerful, he's not friendly, and he's definitely not a pleasant person to be around. Why would they care about him? Heck, they're probably happy to have him gone.

In fact, now that Spain and Veneziano have crossed paths and joined forces, another detail the clone informed him of, they're probably finding everyone else and looking for a way out. They aren't going to bother rescuing him; they're just going to hightail it out and leave him alone.

Sure, they'll probably rescue Prussia, wherever he is now. After all, Prussia is one of Spain's "bad friends", Veneziano is pretty close to him, and Romano knows that Germany won't leave his older brother behind.

That last thought lingers in Romano's mind, stirring up a small spark of hope. A younger brother wouldn't leave behind their older brother, no matter how cowardly they are, right? Veneziano might actually come for him, right?

Immediately, the thought is pushed down. Even if Veneziano cares enough to want to come after him, he won't. His cowardly nature will undoubtedly kick in, leaving Romano here while he escapes.

With the pain wave subsiding, Romano rolls over onto his side, staring blankly at the wall. He hasn't even realized tears have built up in his eyes until he feels a trickle of wetness down the side of his face, the unmistakable trail of silent tears.

No one will be coming for him. No one.

He is completely and utterly on his own.
