The labyrinth is not mine, I may own the book and you will see some of the text, however… I'm only borrowing it for the moment to start off… I promise! If they are selling Jareth put a bid in for me!
If your looking for a fairy tale ending this isn't going to be your sort of story.
I can't live within you
She stood where she was, and swallowed. "Kingdom as great…" she muttered. "…kingdom as great" she saw the crystal spinning in his fingers, and felt on her lips the warmth of his out stretched hand. She gasped, and from some inspired recess of her mind the words come out, blurted out.
"You have no power over me."
"No!" Jareth screamed.
"No!" the goblins exclaimed, astounded.
A clock began to strike.
Jareth tossed the crystal ball up into the air, where it hovered, a bubble. Sarah looked at it, and saw his face, distorted on the shifting, iridescent surface, gently, it drifted down toward her. She reached out fascinated fingers for it and, as she touched the bubble with her fingertips, it burst. A mist of water floated down the air toward Jareth.
Tears were trickling down her cheeks. The words were spoken and that's all that was left, was the echo of destruction all around them as the world fell apart. Blue and gray eyes filled with pain and sorrow unexpressed, told of a secret that would never pass his lips.
The light faded from her bright green eyes, the life that once was so strong faded out from within her and that's all that was left. Sarah closed her eyes if only for a moment to look away from his haunted face.
Feeling a sense of falling, she landed on the ground with a thump. When she opened her eyes, she saw the stair case and found that she was back within her own house. Looking up and the grandfather clock as it chimed off the hour. She heard his voice, for a moment moaning. "Sarah… Sarah…" she reached up and she brushed her cheeks with the palms of her hands. "I must stop this habit of crying" she said aloud as the tears kept running down her cheeks.
"What's said is said, Sarah" she said to her self with a sniff, brushing away the tears that were falling from her eyes again. "Oh my god, Toby!" she cried out and ran up the stairs and into her parents bedroom to the crib that sat by the side of the bed. She worriedly looked inside the crib and found her little brother laying in there sound asleep. "I can't believe I almost forgot about you" she whispered and leaned into the crib and tucked his blankets around his small sleeping body.
Sarah quietly slipped out of the room and closed the door, and leaned against it sliding down it slowly and brought her knees up to her chest. Letting the tears fall as she let her sorrow be known. "What did I do" she whispered aloud, as she held her knee's tightly to her self.
Memories rushed though her head, and she heard his voice nowhere and everywhere singing that haunting song.
'There's such a sad love
Deep in your eyes, a kind of pale jewel
Open and closed within your eyes
I'll place the sky within your eyes
There's such a fooled heart
Beating so fast in search of new dreams
A love that will last within your heart
I'll place the moon within your heart
As the pain sweeps through
Makes no sense for you'
Sarah, the once proud girl fell to the floor holding her self tightly, letting the stinging tears flow out of her eyes. "It's not real… "it's not real" she rocked her self back and fourth on the ground. Her hand made its way to her chest "though this heartbreak is to real" she whispered to the night air.
