She had never felt such joy in her life before. Scratch that, she had never felt joy at all. And boy, didn't it feel amazing. A girl handed her some roses, and another placed the crown on her head, a boy repeated the same process to her king, minus the flowers. Tommy looked over to her and smiled, a true to god smile that made her feel all light and fluttery on the inside. Looking back at the crowd of classmates, they began to clap for her, like they would for anyone else who would've been voted. It was like they had completely forgotten that they hated her, and that now was a new start and they were just meeting her. She smiled at the thought.
And just as everything was at its climax, the devil decided to make an appearance. Above, in the rafters, the two servants of Satan pulled the last string, the one that held back one girl's powers from destroying everything they would ever know.
The bucket, almost in slow motion, tipped, its red contents pouring over the edge and down towards the head of blonde curls. No one ever saw it coming, but then again, no one ever knew what was going to come with Margaret White's child around.
Her pearly white smile, that was a rare sight to behold, but one to be graced with the appearance of, quickly disappeared as the warm liquid drenched her tiny body. Her mouth hung open and her eyes were shut in pain as she took in the smell of the liquid. Blood. Metallic and salty, she would know that smell anywhere, and now here she was drenched in it. The crowd went silent when they realized what had taken place, and they just stared, not a word slipping past their lips. Tommy stepped forward, enraged that such a innocent and rejected girl had been tortured on probably the best night of her life. "What the hell!" was the only and last phrase that escaped his mouth, before it came crashing down on him as well. First the video played and then it fell. The bucket in the rafters. From such a height, with a decent amount of weight, and speed, the bucket clanked down on Tommy's head, his eyes rolling into the back of his head as he collapsed into the pool of blood on the stage. His queen knelt down beside him, crying over the only boy, or person in fact, to had ever spared her an act of kindness.
The crowd was so busy laughing at the video of her bloody shower accident, as she cried over the body of her king. No one around was concerned anymore of the blood drenched girl on the stage, leaning over a dead body. But in her head, everything clicked. The gears that had for so long played forward her fearful and reclusive personality stopped. An new girl entered her mind, one that that had been hiding in the corners of her mind for so long, just waiting for her strong walls of solitude to finally break down so that she could be in control. Tonight was that night.
She accepted that Tommy was dead, but she didn't accept what they had done to her. Standing, she allowed the new her to fully take control. For seventeen years she had been the best Christian she could possibly be and forgave them time after time they had been cruel to her. Now, the final piece of her had been shattered, and there was no putting her back together, but still...a price had to be paid...
