Chapter 1:

Keima walked into a street basketball court tiredly as he played the latest game he held in his hands. He didn't notice a teal-haired boy sobbing in the corner of the court as he sat on an available bench.

"Kami-nii-sama! There you are!" Elsie cheered as she found her supposed brother.

She was about to jump on Keima who was ignoring her when her skull suddenly reacted. The two snapped their head up and looked around them to see…nobody.

"You sure that thing isn't broken or something?" Keima asked as he once again scanned the surrounding area.

"My loose spirit detector can't malfunction or break Kami-nii-sama!" Elsie said with a pout before turning scared, "What if it's an invisible person going to kill you!?"

"Um, excuse me." a voice behind them suddenly said making Elsie shriek and take off into the air and Keima jump from his seat almost losing his hold on his game console.

Keima slowly looked behind him to see a miserable teal-haired boy that looks a little younger than him, there was tear tracks on his face and his eyes were red.

"H-Hi." Keima said, testing a casual response.

"Hello, I was here to give this to your friend who flew away, it fell from her backpack when she came in." the boy said and handed Keima a fire truck book.

"I see, thank you, I'll give it to her then." Keima thanked as he looked at the down-casted teen, there was no way a run-away spirit was in this boy right? That's impossible; they only reside in girls right?

"Very well, I shall leave then, have a good day then." the boy said as he bowed and turned away to leave.

"Wait." Keima said suddenly and the boy turned to Keima.

"My name is Kuroko Tetsuya." Kuroko said with a small smile.

Keima decided he liked that smile, it looked nice on Kuroko, "Katsuragi Keima."

"It's nice to meet you Katsuragi-kun." Kuroko said while bowing again.

"Same here Kuroko-kun." Keima said bowing in return.

Kuroko nodded and turned back to the exit of the court and headed out to home. Elsie came down and unwrapped the hagoromo around her that made her invisible.

"You ditched me." Keima noted.

"I'm sorry Kami-nii-sama! I flew away and didn't know how to come back with him there as he saw me!" Elsie exclaimed in panick.

"Is Kuroko-kun the one with the run-away spirit? Is it possible that a male can contain one?" Keima asked going straight to the point.

"Um, it's legendary that a male has a run-away spirit meaning that the spirit is very powerful and the hole in the male's chest is very large, almost swallowing the heart itself. And it is unfortunately is Kuroko-san that holds the run-away spirit in his heart." Elsie said sadly.

Keima clenched his hand that didn't hold his game console and had a determined look in his eyes, they just met but Keima felt close already and was prepared to help Kuroko at all costs.

"Elsie, gain as much knowledge as you can on Kuroko-kun. I will help Kuroko-kun at all cost." Keima ordered.

Elsie looked surprised, his brother didn't say conquer but help, a smile formed on her face, her brother cared for the boy despite just meeting, "Roger! I'll go collect data on Kuroko Tetsuya right away Kami-nii-sama!"
