Author's notes: Just a Fanfiction containing some one shots that I have written. Oh, and one more thing, I do not own Warriors.
Smoke filled the air around a gray tom, causing him to occasionally wheeze with effort. He knew the danger's of running in the forest, but he couldn't risk his clan mates still in the forest, not knowing weather they still lived or not. He heaved up, not willing to succumb to his on weakness that surged throughout his body.
"Squirrel," He began, but his call was interrupted by a fit of rough coughing. He steadied himself, and prepared himself to call again. "Squrrelflight," He bellowed, barely managing to make the call before erupting into another fit. Thunder rolled in the distance, the soon to come rain promising the cats much relief. But is Squrrelflight and her kits okay? He thought desperately, straining his ears to listen for any sign of the she cat and her kits.
A low sounding growl sounded from behind him, and he whipped around, coming face to face with his old Riverclan aquatince, Hawkfrost. "Well well, image seeing you here," He howled at the other tom, not in the mood for socializing with the warrior.
"Ashfur." Hawkfrost meowed, his voice foll of contempt. The Riverclan tom began to circle around him, as if taunting the gray warrior. "You see, I can grant you another chance at revenge," He meowed, stopping to face his target. Icy blue eyes met Ashfur's gaze. "After all, while you might not have been willing to put that dwindling kittypet's life on the line, now you have a golden opportunity to extract revenge on the cat who broke your heart."
Ashfur mind seemed to be dumbfounded. Hadn't he already turned down this cat when he offered revenge before. Yes, and while it is true that she broke my heart, I was in love with her. Her rejection hit hard. But... I do not want her to suffer. Suddenly, the warrior had an idea. If I can get him to lead me to where she is, He added, before nodding. "Yes, revenge would be good," He meowed.
Hawkfrost nodded, and told him that he would find her by the camp, surrounded by a fire with only a way out. "And who knows, you might be able to convince her of her precious secrete." Hawkfrost finished, sneering on the word secret.
"Secrete? What do you mean, secret?" Ashfur demanded, but before he could, Hawkfrost was gone. He shrugged, and continued on, running as fast as he could. I just hope that I make it in time, he mentally deadpanned. It didn't take long before he found his target, and what he saw shook him to his core. There was Squirrelflight and her kits, surrounded by a fire near the edge of the camp. He knew that the four had only a short amount of time, but then again, he could fell his strength beginning to crumble.
"Hold on Squrrelflight!" He meowed, jumping into action. He found a limb that he could push over, creating a bridge of safety for the four trapped souls on the other side. "Hurry up now!" He commanded, stepping aside to let them cross.
"Thank Starclan you arrived." Squrrelflight meowed, brushing past him quickly, followed by Hollyleaf and Jayfeather. "I'm very proud of you, Lionblaze," He meowed softly as his apprentice passed him, before turning himself and crossing the bridge.
He soon saw Hawkfrost's body materialize in front of him. "What are you doing!" He screeched, hatred spewing from the Riverclan tom. "I gave you their location so that you can get revenge!" He added sharply.
Squellflight looked at him questioningly. "Is it true, Ashfur?" She asked, her voice filled with fright and uncertainty "Ashfur grinned, like it was the funnest thing in the world. "No, even though your break-up hurt me, I wish no harm on any cat." He meowed, before turning sharply toward Hawkfrost. "Except you. And seeing as I fooled into thinking that I wanted revenge," He meowed, before leaping at the tom.
Hawkfrost reacted swiftly, ducking to avoid the warrior and aimed for Ashfur's left rear leg. The former warrior's skills had not diminished, and Ashfur felt sheering pain in his legs. He let out a loud yelp of pain, before managing to free his leg from his opponent by managing to bite Hawkfrosts ear. The two tumbled together for a while, pummeling each other with deadly sharp claws. This can not go on much longer, Ashfur thought, feeling himself growing even more weak.
A sudden roar sounded, one that Ashfur would recognize anywhere. "Firestar," He gasped, feeling Hawkfrost's weight list off of him. Firestar had seen what was happening and managed to surprise His opponent long enough to toss him to the side. Ashfur tried to get out of the fighting, but it was only then he noticed something that scared the daylights out of him.
Blood! The tom felt himself collapse. As he did, he spotted Hawkfrost collapse, swearing vengeance upon the clans. He closed his eyes as his sister began to lick him, trying to get him cleaned up. "How...How bad is it?" He whispered. When Ferncloud didn't answer, he opened his eyes. "Ferncloud?" He meowed tentatively. But his sister did not answer, just looked at him with wide, scared eyes. That's when he noticed his mother, Brindleface, standing beside him.
"My son, you have fought a hard battle here today, and you have won.," She purred, giving him a small lick between the ears. Howeer, she stood up and looked at him in sorrow. "But, it will soon be time for you to join us," She added.
Ashfur wanted to protest, but in the end, he knew that not even Starclan could grant him more life. He gave each of his clanmates one last look, and let out a sigh. "My friends, it will soon come time for me to join Starclan.," He meowed, spurting on the last bit. He heard Ferncloud let out a sob. "I... I could not have asked for better clan-mates." He added, before taking a deep breath. "Thank you."
Brindleface nodded. "They will remember you always, Ashfur." She meowed, before touching his nose. At once, Ashfur, felt his soul leave his body, and he watched his clanmates one last time.
"Is...is he really gone," Hollyleaf asked softly, tears forming in her eyes. He watched Jayfeather brush her pelt comfortingly, trying to bring some comfort to her. Ferncloud broke down into tears, while Lionblaze bellowed out a mournful yowl.
"I... I can't stand to see them so sad," He whispered, Turning to Brindleface. His mom nodded gently and then pointed upwards with her nose. "Let's go home."
