Hey! Hope you like the chapter! I do not own Star Wars but if I did it would be great! Enjoy this pilot chapter and tell me what you think! This chapter is set a few days after Fire Across the Galaxy. :)

Kanan Jarrus' mind wandered as he sat on his bunk, thinking. Normally, he would have been meditating, but he was, instead, thinking deeply about the events that had occurred over the last few days. He had been captured, tortured for things he did not know, and had discovered the identity of the mysterious Fulcrum, an informant his pilot and second-in-command Hera had been in touch with. Hera was the pilot and owner of the ship he and his small crew lived and preformed missions in. His crew consisted of himself, Hera, Zeb, a Lasat who served as their all-around fighter, Sabine, their explosives and distraction expert who had an obsession with art, and Ezra, Kanan's Padawan. Yes, Kanan was a Jedi. He had only been a young Padawan, however, during the infamous Clone Wars and, while he had survived, his Jedi master had been killed during Order 66. He had met Hera some years later, and together they ha formed a small band of rebels that were stationed on the planet Lothal. After he had been captured by the Empire, Kanan had been interrogated for information regarding other rebels, something he didn't know anything about until he had been rescued by his crew. When they got to their ship, however, the were greeted by Fulcrum, who was really none other than Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi Kanan recognized as a hero from the Clone Wars. She had gathered quite a few other rebels and together were working to create a full scale rebellion against the Empire.
"Kanan?" a voice from his door drew Kanan from his thoughts.
"Yes, Hera?" Kanan looked up to see the green-skinned Twi'Lek standing in his doorway, a look of concern on her face.
"Are you alright?" she asked. Kanan nodded slowly.
"I'm OK," he replied. "Just thinking." Hera sat down beside him.
"I hope you understand why I had to keep Fulcrum's identity a secret," she said. "It was just-"
"Hera, that isn't why I'm in here. I understand why you had to keep it a secret. I'm sure she's one of the Empire's most wanted at the moment."
"Kanan, why don't you come out with us? Ahsoka's taking us to the main rebel base, and you should come. I don't know exactly what's been going on with you, but ever since she arrived you've-"
"That isn't why. I sense something, Hera. Something dangerous. Something dark."
"The Inquisitor?"
"No, something darker. I've never sensed it before, and yet it seems so familiar." Hera frowned.
"Well, maybe getting a tour will take your mind off things. Come on!" Kanan smiled at his friends attempts to get him out of his room. She was right, he did need to get out of his thoughts and back into reality, but he needed to figure out why he sensed this. What was the darkness he sensed?
Kanan got up slowly and walked out. Hera followed and the two walked down the hallway of their ship, The Ghost. Kanan suddenly heard voices ahead of him.
"Interesting art. I find it special that you can find beauty in a time of war like this. Light when there is none. Many people can't seem to do that anymore. So, Hera said you're an explosive expert?" a voice Kanan recognized as Ahsoka Tano asked.
"Yeah. I tend to run the distractions as well," replied another voice. Sabine.
"I saw the TIE Fighter you and Ezra decorated. It was a very interesting work of art. You should paint one of my ships some time... Just leave off the bullseye."
"The Bullseye was Ezra's idea."
"Speaking of Ezra, do you know where he is? I need to talk with him."
"Um, yeah... You probably don't want to go into his and Zeb's room at the moment, though. They're having a fight... Like usual." Zeb and Ezra shared the same room. They were constantly getting into fights, but most of them had been planned by the final crew member, a cranky, revengeful, and highly annoying droid named Chopper.
"What's it about this time, Sabine?" Kanan asked from the doorway, and both Sabine and Ahsoka whirled around to look at him.
Sabine was tall, with brown eyes and navy/black hair with streaks of blonde. She almost always wore pieces of armor she had painted herself. Ahsoka, on the other hand, had bright blue eyes and was a Torgruta, a species with head tails.
"Well, Chopper asked to borrow a couple of my old paint bombs. I let him have two or three, and, well, he kinda hid them in their room while Zeb was sleeping. Then, when Ezra walked in to get his lightsaber, he accidentally set them off, and Zeb thinks Ezra set them and Ezra thinks Zeb set them," Sabine explained.
"And your not trying to resolve this?" Kanan asked the Mandalorian.
"No! Course not! Besides, they'd kill me if I said I have them to Chopper!" Sabine grinned. "and I really don't want that happening."
"Neither do I. We need someone to make the distractions."
"Hey!" Kanan laughed.
"Well, sorry to break up the party, but if you want to get back to base and meet the rest of our group, we need to get going," Ahsoka said. "So, where's Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper?" Suddenly Ezra yelled, and an angrily beeping Chopper raced in, followed by Ezra and Zeb.
"Come back here you bucket of bolts!" Ezra yelled, trying to pin Chopper to the floor. Kanan face palmed. Zeb followed close behind, a very dangerous look on his face as he eyed Chopper menacingly.
"He's going to pay for that!" he growled, then noticed Ahsoka. "Oh, um, Fulcrum- I mean Miss Tano- I mean-"
"Just call me Ahsoka for now," she said. "Except, never talk about me or to me in public. It's extremely important that I keep myself hidden from the Empire for as long as possible. Now, I think we should go. Does anyone agree?"
"As long as this tin can with wiring doesn't come along!" Zeb hissed. Hera glared at him.
"Chopper's coming!" Hera snapped. "He's a member of this team just as much as you are Garazeb Orrelios!" Zeb groaned at the sound of his full name.
"Don't call me that," he said. Ezra coughed.
"Are we going?" he asked.
"Yes," Kanan answered, and the ship took off into the stars.
What did you guys think? Did I make a good intro? This is my first Star Wars Rebels fanfiction and it's set directly after Fire Across the Galaxy. Don't worry, future chapters will have more action, better defined characters, and maybe even a bit of romance. Also, the chapters will be longer, since this is only the intro. I will say, however, that this is not going to be a Ezra x Sabine fanfic. Is there is any romance, we'll probably see Kanan x Hera and possible Ahsoka x - HA HA NOT SAYING!
Anywho, thx for reading! Do whatever you do when you like a story!
