This is based off a Cal Arts animation/poem called "There's a Man in the Woods," which I recommend watching.
There's a man in the woods
What a sick joke
When you stick your nose into things you shouldn't
It gets broke
Secrets are hidden from people like you
For a reason
Incompetent kings and foolish leaders
Give a hazardous freedom
If lies were crows we've got murder on our hands
The things we've done demanded silence as the plan
For you to stay away from our nest
But you digressed
And now we've got gestapo all up in this mess
You had one job, one!
To our schemes be blind
But now the sun rises and shines on our secrets and lies
We stopped our missions
Took it easy for awhile
But your insistence made us feel
Vulnerably queasy for awhile
Your men more observant to the dogs and the birds
Your words were alerting
An important warning
Informing us that shrewdness was mandatory
There's a man in the woods, or so
Your guards kept lying
To please the Gestapo
The lengths to which you went
Really were surprising
An inopportune emergency
Drew us out from our cover
My men went for help
But guns were shot and they went under
High steppers and lowlife generals
Ignored my pleading implorations
Denials and repudiations
Refutations negated
You didn't listen to me
But heard some dangerous dialogue instead
Gestapo's ordered the whole camp to die along the dead
Alongside my men
My friends
My brothers I'd give my life
So they wouldn't have to die because you decide to grow a spine
Tomorrow the execution order's going to be carried out
If you think I'll just sit here I'll tell you what you're wrong about
You were never in control
And now you grab the reins?
No, I don't think so
Prepare yourself for pain
While you sleep in your castle made of sand
I'm evacuating the camp right out of your hand
And as the men runoff into the night
That's when you'll listen for good
Can you see the light?
Now have you understood?
Colonel Klink, go to sleep
There's a man in the woods
A/N: I'm not dead, just in high school. This is a little something I cooked up when our internet went down at 11pm
A flock of crows is called a murder, fun fact.
I do wish I could've incorporated the man in the woods more, but I wanted to focus on Hogan's anger at the loss of his men.
Thanks for reading!
