Basketball is pretty big in our country so it is also a part of this story.
This is the last day of the school year but all the students are still buzzing on the school parking lot ready to go to the district's gymnasium. This is because it is also the game 2 of District 12's basketball finals. All of the students as well as the parents are all excited and anxious about the game. Being game 2 of the finals, it could be also the last game of the season. The teams or schools that will play are the districts 12's rival schools.
The Seam Green Archers and the Townie Blue Merchants. Seam and Townie have been rivals ever since forever. They've been rivals in lot things like sports and in academic.
The Townie Blue Merchants is leading the series. They have won basketball championships for the last 4 years. The students of the Townie High School are the sons or daughters of District 12's rich residents. They mostly hangs-out on The Square where most of the higher brands of clothing, coffee, and has a good park located.
The Seam has been trying to take the championship from Townies, but always comes up short. We are proud people always doing everything to beat our rivals. The Seam National High School students come from different social classes of district 12. We always hang out on a place called The Hob owned by Greasy Sae.
Yes, I Katniss Everdeen is a 3rd year Seam student.
"Hey Katniss" said by my sister Prim "Are you going to the gym now?"
My 13-year-old sister Primrose "Prim" Everdeen is an exact opposite of me. She has fair skin, blond hair. She looks exactly our mother. I on the other hand have olive skin, black hair and grey eyes like my father.
"Yes, I need to be there early because I need to get good seats to take photos for the school paper." I said.
I am the official photographer of our school website and paper "The Mockingjay". Even though the school year is over, we always update our website.
"Ok! I just have to ride with mom then. I'll see you later." She said and then turns to go with her friends.
I go to my car, a black 1995 VW Beetle; I open it and got in. Before a start the car I check if my camera is at the back of the car.
The drive from the school to the biggest gymnasium in our district is about 10 minutes. I did not wear the school's color because I need to be neutral on this game because I will also interview and take photos of some of the players of the Townies Blue Merchants.
It is still early when I arrive in the gymnasium. When I enter the parking area to park my car. I saw another car near the entrance of the gym. It is a midnight blue 2012 Jaguar XKR-S convertible. It was a nice car. I knew that one of the Townie owns it but I am a bit confused on why a Townie is already on the gym.
I go to the entrance of the gym with my camera to make sure I have a good seat to take pictures. I know I am super early for just the purpose of getting good seats but since I am a photographer I need to see the lightings to get good pictures.
When I entered the building I hear a dribbling noise in the basketball court. I see Peeta Mellark, Townie's best player on the court practising. He was medium in height, stocky build, and pale skin.
This is an opportunity for me to get pictures of him while practising so I walk near him and take pictures. When he heard the click of my camera he turns and I see the most beautiful blue eyes I ever see.
