When people say life is like a roller coaster, they're right.
There's ups and downs, smiles and frowns.
And of course sometimes you want to throw up.
Stan and Kyle have been through it all, the good times, the bad times and everything inbetween.
"Stan. . . I think we should break up. Forever." Wendy said with a look of determination on her face, telling Stan how this time was different, unlike the other times when they had gotten back together after a few days.
Stan couldn't help but nod numbly. This was the girl he had fallen for, been with since he was eight years old, his first kiss, his first love.
"Um . . . " Stan began to say but was cut off by Wendy claiming she had to go. So he sighed in resignation and watched her walk off into the distance, long black hair being tousled in the wind. The hair he had loved to stroke carefully.
He was surprised by the stinging sensation in his eyes as a tear made its escape .
What the? Cut it out, Don't be such a Clyde! he told himself frantically as he scrubbed at his face with his gloved hand.
"Hey dude!" He was greeted as Kyle came wandering up to his location on the pavement.
" Oh . . . hey dude." Stan tried to respond with equal enthusiasm as his best friend but couldn't quite cut it, instead sounded fake, even to his own ears.
If it had been anyone else, they wouldn't of noticed, but this is Kyle we're talking about, he wasn't Stans 'Super Best Friend' for nothing.
"Stan, dude, what's wrong? . . . Were you crying?"
" . . . No."
"Liar."
He sighed and admitted to Kyle "Wendy broke up with me."
Kyle didn't offer condolences, didn't say how sorry he was for Stan. didn't rage and say that Wendy was just some stupid whore who didn't know what she was missing out on. Why would he? It wasn't going to change anything.
Sometimes hugs could suffice for everything that wasn't said.
It did this time anyway.
"I hate Cartman! I hate that fatass so damn much! He's such a manipulative bastard! I hate him, I hate him, I hate him!" Kyle was currently in the middle of seething over something Cartman had done, and Stan was the one stuck listening. Not that he minded. It was just that it happened nearly every day.
"Dude, why don't you just punch him, that always works."
"I can't! Don't you remember last time? He went crying to his mom, who came over to my mom, and got me grounded for a month! Its such bullshit!"
Stan couldn't help but laugh at that, It was just so like Cartman to act tough but as soon as something went wrong to go crying to his mother. Kyle saw him laughing and sent a death glare his way, while reminding Stan how it wasn't funny.
It was moments like these that Stan liked the most, the normal things in life that would always be constant such as Kyles (justified) hatred towards Cartman. Sitting in Kyles room listening to him bitch about things, while watching Terrance and Phillip.
Oh, and the tickle fights they never really understood, but happened frequently.
And because life was a roller coaster, you can't forget about the times when it all becomes so much, you throw up.
Especially if your name was Stan Marsh, and you were about to kiss your Super Best Friend.
