Just a short scary. Philosophy is disturbing. I get. ideas. And now I'm
going to share them with you all, thanks to UNIT. *hugs Mike Yates* Sorry
Brig, but I kidnapped Mike. Yeah, it happens. Deal. Set just after the Mind
of Evil.
Essentially Otherworld Sin (just written as Sin) has snuck into UNIT with the express motive of. trying to make SOMEONE, ANYONE see what she sees. Don't bother Review unless you have a working command of the English Language. Cause I will ignore you.
The dark-haired woman glared at Mike Yates. or to be more accurate, at the gun which Captain Yates had solidly aimed in her direction. She sighed in aggravation.
"Either shoot me or put that damned thing away," she said grumpily. "It wouldn't make a difference if you did shoot me, though."
"I think I'll wait until the Brigadier gets here first," Mike said, returning the venom drop for drop. "Although I might be tempted if you tell me how you got in here."
The woman laughed bitterly. "Temptation. I wouldn't tempt you, even if I still could. I'm here to deliver a message, not trap more innocent souls."
She waved her hand to cut off the inevitable comment. "Don't bother. I'm only here because he sent me. And no, before you ask, he is not the Master."
"How do you know about the Master?" Yates asked, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. "That's classified information."
"For you humans, maybe!" she countered. "Not so much so for me. Or those I serve. but you don't understand yet. I am. Otherworld Sin. At least, that's the nearest translation that you would understand."
"What kind of person has a name like that?" Yates asked, and instantly regretted it. After all, this unassuming young woman had just appeared in the middle of UNIT HQ, without any visible means of doing so.
"My people." The woman. Otherworld Sin. sighed sadly. "I haven't got much time left. the Burning One will find me soon, and I will not condemn anyone else to a useless death. Captain. what is your name?"
"Mike Yates." he said, and wished he hadn't.
"Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt anyone." Sin shook her head, something nearly approaching a smile flying across her face. "Listen, I need to tell you this before I'm caught. History is written by the winners."
"A trueism," Yates said, with the vaguest hint of sarcasm. "Not exactly anything special."
"In this case, however, it is very special," Sin said. "You humans, you have books, the Bible, the Koran. you know, those things. and they all speak of a war in heaven where the Burning One cast him and his followers into the pit. The reason all these books give is that he was evil."
"So?" Religious talk was hardly Mike's forte.
"So, history is written by the winners! If Hitler had won World War Two, he would have been a hero!" Sin turned her face away. She was trying to hold back tears, but she didn't want a mortal to see. "The Burning One condemned us all to the pit, and corrupted your people. it pains us to see you suffer."
Yates just stood, dumbstruck. If what Otherworld Sin said was true.
"Shoot me," Sin said. It was sudden and sharp.
"What?"
"Just shoot me!!!" she screamed, and rushed at Captain Yates. He fired, more instinct than malice. She tumbled to the floor, dark purple blood soaking into the carpet.
"At last." she gasped, as her form started to waver. "Please. tell them my message."
She dissolved into the floor, but just before she vanished, Yates could have sworn he saw the image of sweeping silver wings.
