Disclaimer: I do not own Vampirates ( places, characters etc.)
Lorcan didn't know why he always saw Grace's face when he closed his eyes. He thought Grace was the most beautiful person in the universe, and Lorcan couldn't stop thinking of her. He was in his bed trying to sleep when he heard a gentle knock on the door. He sat up and the door opened before he had answered. It was Grace. She stepped into his cabin.
"Sorry if I waked you up," she said and looking at Lorcan.
"It's okay, I wasn't even sleeping," he said smiling. "You can sit down if you want." She sat down beside him on the bed.
"I couldn't sleep so I went here to see if you were sleeping," Grace said smiling.
"I can't sleep either," Lorcan said and smiled back at her. They both sat quiet for a couple of minutes. Suddenly Grace said:
"I'm really scared of him Lorcan!"
"Who are you scared of Gracie?" He asked.
"Sidorio," she said. "What if he comes to the Nocturne and kills us."
Lorcan put his arm around her and said:
"If he does, I'll kill him before he gets to you."
"But what if he kills you then?" she said with concern in her eyes.
"Then my ghost will haunt him for the rest of his existence," he said smiling.
"Stop smiling!" she said. "It's not funny."
She rested her head against his shoulder. They sat just like that for a few minutes. After a while she yawned and said:
"I'm really tired now."
"Go and get some sleep then," Lorcan said.
"No, I'm too tired," Grace said yawning again.
"Well sleep here then," said the beautiful Irish boy. Grace fell asleep almost immediately when she lay her head down on the pillow, which Lorcan generously gave her. Lorcan lay down next to her and pulled the sheet over them. He watched her sleep and thought: ´Wow she's really beautiful! ´ Suddenly Grace sat up screaming.
"What's wrong?" Lorcan asked.
"I had a nightmare", Grace said. "I dreamed that Sidorio was trying to kill me." She started to cry, and Lorcan said:
"It was just a bad dream. He is not going to kill you." When she didn't stop crying he started to sing for her:
I'll tell you a tale of Vampirates,
A tale as old as true.
Yea, I'll sing you a song of an ancient ship,
And it's mighty fearsome crew.
Yea I'll sing you a song of an ancient ship
That sails the ocean blue…
That haunts the ocean blue.
The Vampirate ship has tattered sails,
That flap like wings in flight.
They say that the captain he wears a veil
So as to curtain your fright
At his death-pale skin
And his lifeless eyes
And teeth as sharp as night
Oh, they say that the captain, he wears a veil,
And his eyes never see the light.
You'd better be good child-good as gold,
As good as good can be.
Else I'll turn you in to the Vampirates
And wave you out to sea.
Yes, you'd better be good child-good as gold,
Because-look! Can you see?
There's a dark ship in the harbor tonight
And there's room in the hold for thee!
(Aye, plenty of room for thee!)
Well if pirates are bad,
And vampires are worse,
Then I pray that as long as I be
That though I sing of Vampirates
I never one shall see
Yea, if pirates are danger,
And vampires are death,
I'll extend my prayer for thee-
That thine eyes never see a Vampirate…
And they never lay a hand on thee.
When he had stopped singing she said:
"I love you Lorcan, and I wants to know if you feel the same thing for me." She blushed when she said it but she really wanted to know if he loved her. He didn't say anything. Suddenly he leaned forward and kissed her. When they pulled apart she said:
"Should I take that as a yes?" He answered:
"Yes Gracie, take it as a yes." They both smiled and fell asleep in each others arms.
