Despite her forced profession, the nameless soldier had never particularly enjoyed killing. The petite woman very seldom harbored any particular blood lust for her marks or anyone else for that matter. Despite the inhuman darkness of her eyes, the otherworldly green of the pupils and other unique physical attributes, the assassin saw herself as a more or less normal person in an occupation foisted upon them by an unfair world.

It was just a job – just another day – just another life gone by the wayside.

She didn't allow herself guilt or self pity. She did as ordered with minimal emotion and maximum efficiency.

Of course, she was starting to have second thoughts about the whole blood lust thing this time around.

"Whatcha readin', Gladys?"

An eye twitched at the entirely too cheerful voice. "Report," she answered shortly, then smoothly yanked the sheet of paper away before gloved, grasping fingers could make contact. "And don't call me that."

"Why not? It's cute." The outline of his grin was obvious through the fabric of his black and red mask.

With a long suffering sigh, she moved away from the insane mercenary. "It's not cute." She shot him a dangerous glare through freakishly eyes. "I'm not cute." She stowed the report in a folding portfolio folder. "And that's not my name."

Muscular arms crossed over a broad chest. "And 'Nemo' is? What, are we hunting whale, now?" He was rewarded with a blank stare, from the black-haired, demon-winged woman standing by the table halfway across the motel room. "…what do whales have to do with anything?"

Deadpool looked straight at the camera only he could see. "And people think I'm uncultured."

The young woman slowly arched her dark brows, then shook her head and snapped the folder shut. "Stark raving mad is more like it. Who the hell are you talking to?"

A gloved thumb jabbed in the unfortunate girl's direction. "Don't mind her, folks. She's just a little…slow."

She pinched the bridge of her nose and repressed a groan. This is going to be a long, long mission.

Very short peice, I know. This is sort of a little add on to an RP I had going with a friend at one point. I may morph it into a full out multi-part fanfic, one of these days, though. Deadpool is so fun.
