At 15, after the headmaster had pulled him out of Physics class to inform him that flight number CX3001 had come down 200 miles out of Washington, killing both of his parents instantly. Yet it was not until they realised she had also been sexually abused that he suddenly felt like throwing someone or more likely something against the wall of the lab. Surprisingly the only things in close proximity at that time were his microscope and a green rubber band, and he didn't think Dr Goodman or Dr Brennan would take kindly to one of there top of the range, $1000 microscopes being shattered into tiny pieces, even if he could afford to buy them a dozen others. So instead, he pulled the rubber band over his hand and stretched the material, before allowing it to snap back against the inside of his wrist.
