I always knew I liked Sam somewhat more than a friend should. I just didn't know how much.

"Hey Carls, guess what?" Sam asked Carly as we were sitting in Groovy Smoothies sipping on…smoothies.

"Yes Sam" she replied and Sam got a mischievous look on her face. Oh no. I feel scared and excited at the same time. What if she embarrassed us? Got us kicked out? Oh Sam, please don't do anything to drastic. Mush to my dismay, she hoped up on our table and started strumming an imaginary guitar, making the beats with her mouth. I glance at Carly, acknowledging that we both know the song, and watch the scene unfold.

By now, everyone is starring at her, including T-Bo, who looks slightly amused. Even I can't deny the hilarity that is sure to ensue. She jumps of the table when she gets to the part with the words and begins to walk around to people, singing.

"They call me Dr. Worm, good morning how are you? I'm Dr. Worm. I'm interested in things, I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm, I am an actual worm. I live like a worm" she hops from the terrified old lady to a little kid holding ice cream.

"I like to play the drums. I think I'm getting good but I can handle criticism. I'll show you what I know and you can tell me if you think I'm getting better on the drums. I'll leave the front unlocked cause I can't hear the doorbell" after she finishes off the kids ice cream, she goes over to T-Bo's station and hops up on the counter, he takes a step back and lets her rock.

"When I get into it, I can't tell if you are, watching me twirling the sticks. When I give the signal, my friend Rabbi Vole, will play he solo" she pointed to Carly from across the room, who turned beet red, but played the solo with her lips anyway. While she "played" Sam danced around the room, back to us. She gently sat on the table and began singing again.

"Someday, somebody else besides me will, call me by my stage name, they will" she pointed to me and I joined her on the table.

"Call me Dr. Worm, good morning how are you? I'm interested in things, I'm not a real doctor, but I am a real worm , I am an actual worm. I live like a worm and I like to play the drums, I think I'm getting good but I can handle criticism. I'll show you what I know and you can, tell me if you think I'm getting better on the drums." I sang and she and Carly joined me for the last bit.

"I'm not a real doctor, but they call me doctor wooorrrrrrmmmmmmmmm!" we finished, getting a round of applause from everyone. We quickly bowed an exited the store. All the way home we laughed our heads off, and I could only think of one thing.

How beautiful Sam was when she sang, and that I was falling faster than I hoped to.
