When Sanji's eyes eased open, the first thing he saw was the glowing numbers on the alarm clock. The digital numbers read 3:36 AM.
Sanji's brain, still cloudy from sleep, then alerted him to the fact that he wasn't in his own bed, or even in his own apartment. At this realization, the cook's eyes snapped open as he frantically tried to remember where he was or how he got there. Just as he was about to get up, Sanji felt a firm, warm body brush against his back. The blonde instantly stiffened at the unexpected contact, then relaxed as he recalled who it was. Zoro. Sanji's lips parted in a small smile as the memories of the previous day came flooding back.
He remembered getting off from work at the Baratie that afternoon.
He remembered Usopp's text telling him which bar he would meet his friends at.
He remembered laughing with Robin and Brooke at the sticks stuck in Chopper and Franky's noses.
He remembered Zoro walking in late, muttering about how the bar had moved across town since he'd last been there.
He remembered drinking the night away in the company of his closest friends.
He remembered going home with Zoro, since he was too smashed to drive.
He remembered entering Zoro's apartment, laughing at some joke he would probably never remember.
He remembered feeling the swordsman's hands grasping his hips.
He remembered his heart stopping when Zoro's lips touched his.
He remembered pulling Zoro down on the bed with him, making the most of every heated touch, lick, and kiss.
Sanji was stirred from his reverie by the sudden weight of a muscled, bronzed arm flopping across his chest as Zoro rolled over in his sleep. Sanji chuckled lightly and rolled over as well, so his face was pressed into his lover's scarred chest. As he drifted off to sleep, he felt the swordsman's arms tighten around him, and Zoro's breath brushed softly through his hair.
