LHL: Okay, like it says in the summary, this is a villanelle. Dictionary responce: A 19-line poem of fixed form consisting of five tercets and a final quatrain on two rhymes, with the first and third lines of the first tercet repeated alternately as a refrain closing the succeeding stanzas and joined as the final couplet of the quatrain... Yeah, well if you don't get it you'll understand the style when you read the poem. It was a class assignment so it's probably not as good as it could be, but I think it gets the point across.

Smile like you feel
The world is just a game
Pretending it was real
It was a simple deal
The kindness of a name
Smile like you feel
A watch the final seal
Nothing that could tame
Pretending it was real
Souls simple to steal
Unaware of their true aim
Smile like you feel
Hands of time, a spinning wheel
World made to maim
Pretending it was real
So as you kneel
Hidden from fame
Smile like you feel
Pretending it was real
