There were thousand little voices buzzing when she entered The Great Hall. She drank the sight of the newly restored hall, as she walked slowly to the Gryffindor table. Hermione Granger felt like a silly first year old who is entering this magnificent room for the first time. She looked up and noticed how a million little stars are shining in ceiling. Her heart warmed up as she saw professor McGonagall, and a wide smile appeared on her face. She sat next to Neville and started to chat with him, just to kill her time until the feast begins. He and Luna are together for two months, and she was truly happy for them, but something broke down in her heart.
She realized that she was the only one alone. Harry had Ginny, George was with Angelina, Ron hooked up with Lavender and now Neville and Luna are together also. She had a silly crush on Ron, but he was not the real man for her. She is chasing a career and he is chasing a baby machine. That will not work for her. She was dragged out from her thoughts as Minerva started talking.
" Good evening dear students and professors, I'm really glad to see many of you who returned to finish their 7th year. That honestly draws smile on my face. I would like to wish a good luck to all first year students before sorting them into their houses and I want to announce that we also have a new Defense against The Dark Arts professor…"
Ron mumbled something about that our new professor must have "big balls" to assign for that position, and she couldn't hear what Minerva said. When she turned her attention to Minerva, again she saw him. The last person she hoped to see. His pale blonde hair was swirling around him as he walked, and that devilish smirk danced on his face as he approached the Head Table. She heard a Slytherin table cheering and whistling, and many little voices at the Gryffindor table whispered "what, him?" and even some curses. Hermione's mouth slowly opened, as he focused his steal grey eyes on none but her. Her cheeks turned into pale rose color, but he noticed and his smirk was deeper now. She quickly picked up her things and stormed out of the Great Hall.
Lucius Malfoy was surprised by her reaction, but he was more surprised by her beauty. Yes, she is not a little girl anymore. She was becoming a woman, and a very beautiful one. This will be one very interesting year, indeed.
