Sitting in the back corner of the library, Lily Evans was getting in some last minute studying before heading home for the holidays. One would think that if she would move to the back, that she would wish to be left in peace. Alas, this was not meant to be for her.
Turning the page, she saw that someone had left a piece of parchment inside the book. Lily pulled it out, intending to just throw it away, when she caught sight of her name.
Lily,
Meet me in the Owlery. It's important.
James
Lily, figuring that games was just going to prank her – again – instead left the library for the comfort of her dorm room/ On her bed was another sheet of parchment.
Please! I swear it's not bad!
She crumpled up the paper and tossed it aside.
She quickly grew bored of the dorm room, so she went down to the common room. Lying on her favorite chair was yet another note.
I do solemnly swear on my honor, on my magic, and on my Marauder-hood that I am not planning or trying to prank Lily Evans.
Lily rolled her eyes at the note and finally made her way up to the Owlery, lest more notes pester her.
She pushed the door open to see James Potter, in all his Gryffindor glory, standing before her, holding a small wrapped package.
James handed it to her, motioning for her to open it. Carefully she did, and she was shocked to see a necklace, with a pendant shaped like a lily, alternating diamonds and rubies.
"Happy Christmas, Lily," He whispered with a slight grin. She returned it with one of her own.
