Marriage Never Ending

Zoe tries to cope with Wash's death. But there is only one person who can truly help her. Revealed in 3rd chapter.

This is my first attempt at writing a FireFly fanfic. I absolutely love the series and the characters that belong in this 'Verse.

I don't own any of the characters but that would be awesome.

Pain.

It was something that she was used to.

Pain is what she went to bed with. Pain is what she woke up to.

Pain had quickly become a new companion in her life.

Several months had passed since it happened. It was something that she couldn't get over in her mind.

Tears. Yes, crying was now a constant in her life.

Zoe rolled onto her back with streams of tears steaking down her face. She couldn't help herself from crying, it just came. Crying always accompanied the pain.

She attempted to team the tears rolling down her cheeks with a feeble swipe of her hand. Unknowingly, that hand fell back down to the bed onto the side opposite of her.

His side.

Zoe closed her eyes as a fresh wave of tears and pain coursed through her body. She missed him so bad, she needed him so bad.

"Wash…" His name flowed from her lips as tears flowed down her cheeks.

She conjured up an image of him laying beside her, smiling that annoying yet adorable smile. That smile is something that she lived for. What she looked forward to everyday. And now it was gone.

Her hands gripped the sheets hard as unbearable sadness chased the image away from her.

"No…..Wash please come back."

Zoe flips back over and buries her face deep into her pillow. Her right arm reach's out to snag Wash's pillow then she drags the pillow back to her and squeezes it hard. Trying to do something that still brings a pleasant memory to her turbulent mind. With a lovely memory of Wash secured in her mind, Zoe falls back into a deep sound sleep.

I know this first chapter is really short. But I believe this is good setup for later chapters. They are on there way shortly!
