A/N: It's time for the Christmas fics to begin! So I call her Cece in this one because I imagine it during season 3 when they kinda bonded but obviously didn't know she was Charlotte yet. Cuteness ensues! Enjoy!
Emily stood in the lounge staring at the Christmas tree before her. She grinned as she hung the last decoration and stood back to survey her handiwork.
"I love Christmas!" she exclaimed, before pressing a button on a penguin feature above the fireplace. The penguin lit up and began singing a Christmas carol. Emily giggled.
"You're such a child."
She spun around to see Cece Drake standing in the doorway, laughing at her.
Emily shrugged, "I love Christmas," she repeated, a blush crawling up her neck. She'd been flirting with Cece for weeks and now she probably Emily was some kid who went gaga over a silly holiday.
Cece grinned, "I know you do. Hey, I got a surprise for you. Wanna come for a drive?"
Emily tried to supress her excitement, "Sure!" she failed.
Cece giggled and swung her keys around her finger, "Awesome. Let's go."
Emily shivered under Cece's touch, the older girl's hands covering her eyes
"Cold?" Cece's lips were close to Emily's ear, making her shiver again.
Emily bit her lip, "A little," she continued forward, her shoes crunching in the snow below her, "Where are we?"
Cece smiled, "You'll see. Just a little further."
Emily grumbled but continued on.
"Okay, stop!" Cece said, keeping her hands over Emily's eyes, "Ready?"
"Ready!" Emily nodded her head enthusiastically, "Smells like pine trees and like, nature."
"You have a good nose," Cece giggled, removing her hands from her friends' eyes.
"Thank… whoa," Emily's jaw dropped as she saw her surroundings.
They stood before a simple wood cabin but there was nothing simple about the decorations that covered the cabin and the snow surrounding it. Thousands of fairy lights. A whole crew of reindeer attached to a sleigh. A family of glittery penguins by the front door. A real classic snow man. Carrot for a nose. Button eyes. Stick arms. Lights spun into the shape of gift boxes. A giant snowglobe.
"Is that a gingerbread house?" Emily squealed, running up to it, "Wow."
Cece grinned and opened the door of the miniature gingerbread, pointing inside, "Look."
Emily bent down and looked inside to see two little gingerbread; one with blonde hair and one with brown.
"It's you…and me," Cece bit the corner of her lip.
Emily stared at her and nodded, her eyes flicking to the way her friends' teeth dug into her own lip.
"This is amazing," Emily gushed, "Like, really amazing. You should put an ad up on the internet, you know how some people invite people to look at their Christmas house and – "
"Nah," Cece shrugged, "It's all for you, Americana."
Emily was speechless. She leant forward but Cece stepped backwards.
"S-sorry," Emily stammered, confused, "I thought… I'm sorry – "
Cece stood there grinning at her, "It's okay," she took her friends' hand, "It's just… " she dragged her friend over to the doorway of the cabin, pointing up, "Mistletoe," she whispered.
She leant in and pressed her lips to Emily's, something she'd been dying to do since she'd met the younger woman. One hand caressed Emily's cheek as the other felt the door knob, swinging the cabin door open and pulling the younger woman inside.
