Summary:

Cat and Rat.

Her two loves.

Both forbidden.

Both wanting something she could give easily.

But how to choose?

Akito is forcing her to choose:

Yuki or Kyo?

Whomever she chooses will have his memories of her erased, and the other—well, he loses his memories of her as well.

It's a lose-lose situation and...

It's unfair.

They all know it, but what choice do they have?

After all, Akito is God, and even Tohru must bow to God's will.

Right?

And after she picks—

When she picks—

She's alone again.

No more living with the Sohmas.

No more friends—though she doesn't know that yet.

No pressure.

He plays music for her, knowing she enjoys it.

Knowing she misses them so much it hurts.

Knowing that she misses him too, but not in the same way.

And that hurts him.

But—

He hates seeing her like this.

She's slowly breaking.

Even her teachers have noticed.

And her two best friends—Akito took it a step further and had their memories of her erased as well.

So she's completely alone.

And he doesn't know why he's the only one who remembers her—

But he wants to help her.

He wants to help them remember her.

And he'll do it.

Even though it's going against God.

No going back.

No changing his mind at the last second.

No pressure.

***

Tohru hated the snow.

It wasn't the cold or the wetness it brought that made her hate it.

She didn't even really hate snow at all.

She hated remembering them when they couldn't remember her.

It wasn't their faults though.

It was as God willed it.

She didn't even hate God for the decision. She'd been the executioner. She couldn't talk.

It was all her fault.
