The story was inspired by a telephone conversation I had with rookie-chan last night. Her story was so good that I just had to write it. I hope you don't mind me using it as an inspiration for this. Thank you so much for the lovely stories and for listening to my problems.

Clue
"So, Haruhi, is there anyone you like?" Hikaru asked, grinning. They were both in the middle of lunch and while Kaoru offered to buy their lunch in the cafeteria, the two decided to stay inside the classroom.
"Not really," Haruhi mumbled through a mouthful of food.
"Come on, there's got to be someone," the other half of the Hitachiins prodded. "Don't you think it's weird to have no one to like?"
Haruhi gave a small smile. "You have a point." She brought down her chopsticks to consider Hikaru's words. "Maybe I do have someone I like."
"Ah! That's good news!" Hikaru exclaimed. "This proves that Haruhi is really a female!" Haruhi threw him a dirty look before she continued eating. "Who is he, then?"
"None of your business."
"I was just joking, Haruhi," Hikaru pouted. "How about giving me a clue?"
A mischievous smile crept up her face and she brought down her chopsticks. "Okay, but you have to tell me yours."
"Deal."
Haruhi began thinking and after a while, she beamed victoriously. "R-T-R-G. There."
Hikaru figured it out within seconds and the grin he had weakened into a stiff smile. "Damn, that was easy." He cradled his head on his hand and looked at Haruhi. "His real initials. Gee, how creative," he said sarcastically. "So, you like milord, huh?"
Haruhi blushed and frowned, looking at Hikaru challengingly. "H-How about you, Hikaru? Where's your clue? I'm going to guess it right, too."
"Clue?"
"Yes, you said you'd give me a clue about yours if I tell you one about mine." Haruhi began putting away her food. "It would be really unfair if you don't do part of your deal, you know. And you even figured mine out."
Hikaru shrugged in reply as they both saw Kaoru, who was carrying two full plates of food, enter the room.
"Come on, Hikaru. Give me a clue," Haruhi said, glancing worriedly towards Kaoru. "Is it really Kaoru? Or is it--"
Hikaru stood up and gave Haruhi a smirk.
"No. It's you."

(1) Tamaki's real name is René Tamaki Richard Grantaine. There had been nothing in the manga about him telling everyone in the host club about this, but I figured that since the twins mentioned that they researched Tamaki already (when they were being recruited for the host club), they probably know about it.
(2) I know that this is not how Hikaru confessed so it's a bit AU. :)
Poor Hikaru. I just hope that I didn't jinx the pairing by writing this story and that something good happens in Chapter 62. Why Tamaki, Bisco-sensei? WHY.
