There was a large crash and an even louder eruption of swearing from the floor above. "Damn it Buckbeak!" screamed Sirius Black, at the top of his voice. Remus winced.
"Sirius?" he said cautiously, picking his way through the half chewed pieces of meat that were scattered all over the staircase. "Sirius?"
The man in question was standing at the top of the stairs, covered in raw meat and feathers, with one hand on the Hippogriff's beak and the other keeping a bucket of food as far away from the animal as possible. "Remus!" he gasped in relief. "Look, you HAVE to help me clean this all up before Molly finds out!"
Remus looked nauseous at the thought of clearing up all the half chewed meat. "Sirius," he said "What in Merlin's name have you done!?"
" Well, Buckbeak didn't seem to like the birds I brought him. I think that the feathers might have put him off."
Buckbeak sneezed.
"Defiantly the feathers" agreed Remus, sweeping his wand across the floor so most of the pieces of meat landed safely back into the bucket, although there were still bloodstains all over the carpet.
The door opened quietly, and Minerva McGonagall stepped into the hallway, tripped on a leftover piece of meat and skidded across the floor.
"SIRIUS!" she yelled.
"Quick! HIDE!" squealed Sirius, and hurriedly dived under a table. Remus rolled his eyes.
"There you go Minerva" he said graciously, helping her to her feet.
"Thank you Remus" she said, brushing herself off, and cleaning up the stains on her jacket, and the carpet with a quick flick of her wand.
"Thanks Professor" said Sirius, appearing at the top of the stairs, covered in chicken blood. "Molly was going to kill me!"
He picked up the bucket, tripped down the stairs and emptied it all over Molly Weasley, who had just come out of the kitchen to see what all the fuss was about.
"SIRIUS!"
yeah, and I know Minerva was totally unnecessary to the story but I couldn't resist putting her in. If you've read this far, please leave a review!
