The park bench is hard under you, but you pay it no mind as you focus on the sun rising against the city. This time of the morning it's beautiful; the pinks and oranges a stark contrast against the pale blue sky. You'd be lying if you said you didn't come here for a reason.

In their own way, the beauty of it reminds you of someone. Someone that, despite watching the sun set together countless times before, you know will never share the sunrise with you. The sunsets were never anything but innocent, though you lost count of how many times you caught her watching you. A look of intense concentration on her face, as if she was trying to figure you out.

But you both know she has you figured out, and you her. You both run to each other, are there for each other, understand one another. But now it's all stopped. Well, not all of it. You still have constant contact with one another and you still work together. Your never-ending conversations via texting makes you wonder if it wouldn't be easier to simply pick up the phone and call. Surely, it would make driving safer for the both of you, as well as the entire metropolitan area. You're sure the state police wouldn't thank you for it thought. You've already shelled out a hefty sum to them under that blasted "no texting while driving" law.

The weekly hangout's had ended abruptly, making you worry you had done something wrong. She assured you that you hadn't, that everything was "fine." She's yet to realize "fine," her code word for "not really okay at all," was decrypted by you ages ago.

The problem is you have no idea how to approach it, or even if you should. She's a master with words, she's the best press liaison there is for a reason. You know despite being able to read her, she could play you like a book with her words.

Part of you, the insane, selfish part, wants to walk up to her, grab her and kiss her. You're not entirely sure it would be unwelcome, if only she didn't have him already.

Actually, aside from the guilt you would both feel, you really don't think she'd mind at all.
