Gambit stood on the grounds, looking up at her window. He'd done this every
night for the past three weeks, ever since he'd moved in, leaving the
Acolytes.
She was as cold to him now as she had been when they'd first met, if you
exclude that one week where they were pretty close.
He smiled, remembering how she refused to let anyone touch her, yet she'd
let him wipe away her tears that one night.
-And I'd give up forever to touch you -Cause I know that you feel me somehow -You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be -And I don't want to go home right now
He smiled. She was so beautiful, he could spend hours sitting here, watching her brush her hair through the window. She deserved to be held by someone, especially after all she'd been through in this life. It wasn't fair for her to have all this, especially at her age. It wasn't fair. She shouldn't have to be untouchable. It was just typical that the Master Thief got his heart stolen by a Southern Belle who couldn't return his affections, even if she wanted to. Of course she wanted to! He was Remy LeBeau! Women fell at his feet, wanting to please him, why shouldn't she? 'Because shes Rogue.' He reminded himself. 'She isn't one to do things because everyone else does. it makes it less likely.' Perhaps, at last, he was starting to understand the Belle Femme.
-And all I can taste is this moment -And all I can breathe is your life -And sooner or later it's over -I just don't want to miss you tonight
He just wanted to hold her close to him again, cradling her against his chest as she cried. And still she acted like she didn't know him, or want to. Like he was a perfect stranger. A perfect womanising Cajun Gentleman.
-And I don't want the world to see me -Cause I don't think that they'd understand -When everything's made to be broken -I just want you to know who I am
Up in her room, Rogue sighed. She missed him. She couldn't forget about him. Gambit. Remy. Whatever you wanted to call him. It was at times like this that her gift was a curse. It was great for helping save the world, but she couldn't kiss him. or let him hold her, just incase he accidently touched her poison skin. At least if she kept him at a safe distance, he wouldn't get too close and accidents wouldn't happen. Better to pretend she didn't know him.
-And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming -Or the moment of truth in your lies -When everything feels like the movies -Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive
Gambit sighed. Maybe, one day, hopefully soon, she'd wake up and realise that he missed her. Of course, he'd always be around, hoping for her to notice that he did care, whether she wanted to acknowledge the fact or not. He smiled, remembering that one week they'd spent together.
*-*-*-*-* Flashback *-*-*-*-* Rogue laughed, looking down from her window. "Ya promise ta catch?" He nodded.
"I'll catch Chere. Promise." And she threw a suitcase at his head, which he ducked. "Ya promised!" She half-laughed out of the window at him. "Good job Ah didn't jump Eh Swamp Rat?" "I wouldn't miss y' Chere." "Ya sayin Ahm fat?" She teased. "No. I'm sayin' I wouldn' dare miss y' Chere." He grinned, that irresistible Cajun grin that melted her heart. "Will y'wait fer me Cajun?" "I wait f'rever for y' Chere. f'r as long as it takes." *-*-*-*-* End Flashback *-*-*-*-*
"C'mon Chere. I'm still waitin' f'r y'."
-And I don't want the world to see me -Cause I don't think that they'd understand -When everything's made to be broken -I just want you to know who I am
"F'r as long as it takes f'r y' t' realise. Je t'aime Chere." He whispered to the wind as Rogues light went off as she laid down to sleep.
A/N: Hey if anyone can help me out, with getting the lyrics onto a line each without them double spacing, Id be most greatful..
