Note: HA - I WAS THE ONE TO ADD THE SUB-CATEGORY FOR KEITH! THIS IS A PROMOTIONAL ONE-SHOT SO PEOPLE WILL KNOW THAT THIS CATEGORY EXISTS WHEN THEY BROWSE 'MOVIES'!!!
By the way, to understand all of this, you have to read the short story that the movie is based off of by the same title - there are some references to it.
Disclaimer: I don't own the movie Keith or any of the characters, although I wish I did!
There were many things that Natalie Anderson had treasured and kept throughout her long lifetime - objects from her childhood, things that had belonged to her kids when they were young, antiques - a large variety of odds and ends, all special.
Cara and Ben, two of her many grandchildren, were searching through Natalie's attic one fine morning while their parents went shopping when they came across a dusty old suitcase stashed away in the far left corner, nestled under the eaves. Together, they pulled it out and opened the lid. Inside was a pair of goggles you would use during a chemistry experiment, a Tic Tac container still full of the them, an empty Twinkie and beef jerky wrapper, and a text book.
"What the heck is this stuff?" Ben wondered aloud. "Why would Grandma save these things?"
"I don't know, but there's got to be a reason for someone to keep old food wrappers. Let's go ask her." Cara closed the suitcase shut and picked it up. She walked down the staircase and to the living room where Natalie was sitting on the couch, watching a tennis match.
"We found this in the attic, Grandma. Why were these things important enough to keep?" Cara handed her the suitcase, and Natalie smiled sadly.
"I haven't looked in here in years. Those things belonged to someone I met in high school - someone who was very special to me, even if I only was with him for a brief amount of time," she replied.
"This person…you're obviously not talking about Grandpa, right?"
"No, Keith Zetterstrom was my chemistry partner when I was five years older than you two," Natalie explained.
"Oh. I don't get it - lab partners aren't exactly known for being memorable," Ben said, confused. (AN: That may be true in real life, but not in fiction - take Twilight for example! Yeah right!)
"I'm going to tell you guys another story, but this time it's going to be real. It all started when I was seventeen…" Natalie then proceeded to tell the twins about her and Keith - a process that took quite a while, what with all of their interruptions and exclamations. Once the tale was finished, Cara couldn't help but let a few tears silently escape.
"That was so sad, Grandma - you didn't even get to go bowling!" she said quietly.
"I know, Cara, but the thing is, we didn't need a bowling scene. We just needed a little more time." Natalie sighed, reminiscing the crazy things she and Keith had done together. "Wait. I don't suppose you saw this, did you?" She pulled a folded piece of notebook paper from the middle of the textbook.
"We Can Go Anywhere? What is that?" inquired Ben as Natalie smoothed the creases.
She smiled. "It was our song."
Note: I hoped you liked that. I AM ENCOURAGING YOU GUYS TO WRITE SOME KEITH FANFICS, SO PLEASE DO IT! THANKS FOR READING! PLEASE REVIEW!
