A/N: This is a Christmas present for Bramblerose4. I hope you like it.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
OOOOOO
Harry kicked as hard and fast as he could, desperately striving to reach the surface. He could see sunlight not far above him but Ron and the girl were making it so hard to rise to the surface.
Eventually after what felt like an eternity he felt his head break the surface. The pure joy that washed through his system as Ron's head broke the surface meant that he didn't hear Ron's words and would have just stayed where he was, treading water if Ron hadn't poked him in the arm and pointed to the shore.
He and Ron supported the girl to the shore where she was wrapped up in the fierce embrace of Fleur Delacour. A few seconds later Percy was in the water, pulling Ron to the side, for once acting like a caring brother, not a pompous git.
The scores and subsequent cheering were lost to Harry as he watched Ron being fussed over by Percy and Hermione. A strange sort of feeling filed the pit of Harry's stomach as Hermione insisted that she dry Ron's hair before he caught cold. He instantly recognised it as jealousy.
Ron was his, though Ron didn't know it, and he didn't like Hermione touching what was his. Shaking his head at his own childishness, Harry Rose to his feet and headed off in the direction of the castle, Hermione and Ron instantly following.
They were three floors below the common room when Harry stopped dead.
"Do you mind if I talk to Ron alone for a minute, Hermione?"
Hermione looked slightly surprised but nodded anyway. As soon as she rounded the corner Harry took hold of Ron's wrist and led him into a deserted classroom.
"Look, Ron. There's something I need to tell you."
"Sure, shoot."
"Right... err," Harry fiddled nervously with the hem of his swimming top "you see, the thing is… there's a reason why you were the thing that I would miss the most."
"Yeah, sure. I'm your best mate," said Ron brightly.
"No, Ron, It's more than that. I'm… I'm in love with you."
Ron stood, rooted to the spot, a look a surprise frozen on his features, his mouth open slightly.
"Ron, please say something," Harry begged.
"Yeah, sorry Harry. Just a little surprised."
"No, I should be sorry. I never should have told you."
"Yes, you should," Ron said, moving to stand directly in front of Harry "otherwise I never would have known you liked me back."
Ron smiled at Harry's look of shock before leaning forward to gently kiss him. The kiss became more heated as Harry got over his immediate surprise and began to kiss back.
It was much later, when they were curled up in front of the common room fire together, Harry gently stroking Ron's hair, that Harry thanked the Gods for giving him his Wheezy.
OOOOOO
A/N: There we go. Corny, wasn't it? But I couldn't resist. Review?
