"A-ah!"
Her eyes clench in pain. A firey red gem strikes her across the
cheek, cutting the once perfect fair skin.
She is thrown against
the cold stone of the wall, the jewel flaring brightly as her body
bruises, tearing the fabric of her simple dress on the sharp stone.
It hurts her, it hurts her badly, her back, her sides, her
arms..
"This is your fault, foolish girl!"
The voice resonates in her head, deafening, painful, it's searing harshness rending her heart. ...Why was she being subjected to this? Another cry unwillingly escapes her lips as a rough hand snatches her neck, pulling her forward.
"It's your fault my son brought our noble family to disgrace! Filthy human!"
Th-those eyes.. They pierce her, terrify her, burning into her soul, accompanied by a sneering grin, violently sadistic in it's fury.
"He has disobeyed me too often, seeing you... And this is the price he will pay."
She wants to scream no, but she can't. The
hand around her throat is too tight, the thumb holding immense
pressure on her windpipe. Her chest is heaving wildly now, shrieking
for air she cannot get.
Dimly, she is aware of being thrown once
more against the freezing stone.
Where are you? Blumiere, I
need you!
Her head feels light, and her muscles weak as
she attempts to stand, being struck down once more by a hard slap
from the cane in the demon's hand.
The gem glows
brighter.
Consciousness slipping, the human girl can only just
make out the darkness surrounding her, enveloping her frail, slender
frame.
The door slams, a burst of light before her dimming
vision... One more scream before the darkness takes
hold...
"Timpani!"
