"What do you mean, it happens?" Heidi Petrelli shouted to her mother-in-law, her chair now pushed back and she was on her feet.

Angela smiled. "I'm still not used to seeing you stand again," she told Heidi. She lost her smile, though, when Heidi's eyes pierced right through her skin—cold, hard, glaring. "It's in the past, Heidi, don't worry about it."

"It's not the past if his daughter just shows up in your house!"

Angela made a quiet sigh and took a sip of tea from the glass in front of her. "We thought she was dead." She had to lie, there. Angela knew that Claire wasn't dead, but Nathan didn't. "And besides, it happened before you got married, or were even together, for that matter."

Heidi still seemed annoyed, but she took her seat, glaring coldly at her mother-in-law. "That doesn't matter," she said, "he never even told me about her. He kept a secret from me."

Angela smirked at this and arched an eyebrow. "You're acting like you've never kept a secret from him." She took another sip from her tea, her gaze never leaving Heidi's eyes. "Have you told him about Simon's father? Oh, no… I see now, you have an affair nine years ago while your husband is off fighting in Bosnia, and you don't have the guts to tell him, but he has relations with another woman before he even meets you and he's the bad one?" She nodded and took another, satisfied, drink of her tea. "Of course, you're right dear."

Flabbergasted, Heidi rose from her seat again, this time in shock rather than anger. She quietly tucked her chair in, turned away from Angela, and left the room. Smirking, Angela took a final sip from her tea. "I never did like her."
