Johan07: Just wanted to do a small one-shot about Episode 8 from Hunter x Hunter 2011. You see, at one point of the episode, I find it a bit funny how everyone fell silent and blinked when Gon volunteered himself to be the next competitor in the second one-on-one fight. So I hope you don't mind.

Summary: "Who's going next?" That was the question. "Me! I'll go!" And that was his answer. Soon everyone and everything around him fell dead silent. Takes place towards the end of Episode 8 of Hunter x Hunter 2011. One-shot! Contains some humor.

That was Killua's question and it was directly towards his group.
Without waiting for any of his friends' consent, Gon shot his hand straight up and spoke. "Me! I'll go!" He announced with a childish smile on his face.
"…"
"…"
"…"
"…"
Upon hearing his answer, no one, and I mean NO ONE spoke a single word to him.
Not Kurapika.
Not Killua.
Not Leorio.
And especially, not Tonpai,
No… One,
It was an awkward moment, especially when his friends and that fatso were all staring and blinking at him nonstop like he grew a second head or something. Really, was his answer that surprising? Or was it something else?
Wait. That must be it.
It has to be something else. What other thing was there? There was no way his answer alone would trigger something like this.
Yes… Things were adding up now.
Who would have thought Gon freezing up like a frozen statue with his hand still up high for five seconds and looked like he waving at the cameraman, would cause such a scene?
Not him.
