It's ok

It was a long day. The team had solved a difficult case and everyone was exhausted and tired. In addition Tony had a wound on his head and McGee a bandage on his left hand. But none had suffered major injuries. Tony sat at his table and wrote his report. McGee had left earlier because Abby isisted he should go to the doctor because of his hand. Ziva and Gibbs also wrote their reports.
"And finished!" announced Ziva.
"Good, then go home to get some rest. And be back sharply at 7" Gibbs said to her.
"Good night, boss. Goodnight Tony" Ziva said as she walked toward the elevator.
"Night" Tony called after her.
After a few minutes Tony finished his report.
"Finished boss" he said and gave Gibbs the printing.
"Ok DiNozzo. Then drive home too" Gibbs replied, standing up.
".. ahm .. i .. I can't" muttered Tony and looked at his desk.
"Why not?" Gibbs asked as they walked to the elevator.
When the doors opened they went into it.
"I ... it's ..." Tony tried to explain.
"What's the problem, Tony?" Gibbs asked with a worried face.
Gibbs using his first name was too much for Tony. He tried to suppress the tears but failed. He just stood there and felt the tears flowed down his cheeks.
"Tony?" Gibbs asked, more worried. But he got no answer.
Gibbs walked up to him and hugged him.
"Boss, I ..." stuttered Tony.
"Hey, it's ok" Gibbs whispered, stroking his hair.
Then Gibbs flipped the switch and the elevator stopped.
"Sit down and tell me what's going on" said Gibbs.
Tony did as he was told and leaned on the wall of the elevator. Gibbs sat down beside him.
"It's just ... every day it can happen. Every day be one of us could die ... Kate ... Jenny ... I do not know how much longer I can stand it. You are my colleagues, my friends .. ., my family" Tony said and burst into tears again. Gibbs pulled him close and hugged him again.
"Shall I tell you something? I also fear for you ... a great fear even. Every day when we are in the field., I do not want to lose you. Do you understand that Tony?" Gibbs whispered in his ear. Tony nodded.
