Here I lay staring at the ceiling and occasionally at my best friend, who is currently asleep in his usual place in the corner of my room. Thoughts cloud my mind about what will happen now that I'm Chief of Berk but occasionally a small thought slips in about my father. I sit up and shake my head not wanting those thoughts to develop further knowing that if they do then I will never know peace and his death will keep haunting me. I quietly get out of bed and pull on my boot and prosthesis before leaving the room and house, heading toward the forest where I can relax. Looking up at the night sky I see the moon shining brightly, casting a faint glow into the forest as I head towards the one place where I can let it all go, the cove where I first found toothless, my loyal dragon, my best friend, my protector. Entering through the rocks, I go over and sit by the lake watching as the moon shines over the now frozen surface. Winter started not so long ago and with most of the village still having the ice from the Bewilderbeast, Berk has been getting colder faster. Not that it bothers me anyway, I've grown used to it over the years that I barley notice it. So drawn into my own thoughts I don't even realize that it has started snowing until a single flake lands on my nose and melts. Staring into sky as it falls, covering everything in a layer of pure white as if trying to erase all of the impurity that has been put into the world the past year. It's the first snow of the year and most likely later today all of the villagers will be out either clearing it away or playing in it, in the children's case that is. Me... I'd probably have to help clear it away along with the other riders. Oh how I wish I still had no worries about running the village. Mostly my mother, thank Odin for her other wise I wouldn't know what I'd do, has helped me a lot when it comes to dealing with the day to day activities of Berk, I know losing dad was a lot for her especially considering that they finally found each other again after so long. I'm so lost in my storm of thoughts that I fail to notice that I'm drifting off to sleep as the moonlight shines down on me, illuminating my freckles and chocolate brown hair, as the last thought passes through my mind before I'm fast asleep, snow blowing around me as the light moves from where I am to the center of the lake, wind picking up speed, blowing snow all around until it it stops, settling back to a gentle falling around the hooded figure that was now standing in the middle of the lake, breeze blowing around them, knocking the hood back to show hair as white as the freshly fallen snow and dazzling blue eyes shining bright in the light of the moon.
