A/N: So this is my take on how Batman died, even though Batman will never die because he's just that amazing. Oh and just to clarify, Carrie Kelly is Robin and Dick Grayson is Nightwing. Enjoy!:)

Cry For Me

Robin looked up the cliff. He had just been up there. Now he was gone. Where did he go? She already knew. He went down.

Flash and Superman stepped in fronting Robin protectively, but it was too late. She had already seen the broken figure on the ground. She pushed past the crowd effortlessly.

She held him close to her heart, his body twisted. No one had realized how breakable he really was. And Robin cried. Three tears. Only three. Her heart had stopped with his. It was September 1st. That stood out in her mind. September 1st.

Alfred stood frozen. Little Master Bruce. He was really gone. Three more tears.

Clark sat silently in his small uptown apartment. Damnit Bruce! Did you really have to die? Drop drop drop.

Dick was staring at a blank wall. Father no. Three tears fell on the small mask in his hand.

Selina was appalled. Who would have thought that the Batman could die? She was out of money. But being Catwomen wouldn't be that same without Bruce there to stop her. Three raindrops fell.

Carrie sat in her room, guitar in hands.

"Summer has come and passed

The innocent can never last

Wake me up when September ends

"Like my father's come to pass

Seven years has gone so fast

Wake me up when September ends

"Here comes the rain again

Falling from the stars

Drenched in my pain again

Becoming who we are

"As my memory rest

But never forgets what I lost

Wake me up when September ends"

Dick turned in the radio in his car. Halfway through the song it was on full blast.

"Sumner has come and passed

The innocent can never last

Wake me up when September ends"

Selina put on the record she and Bruce has listened to that first night.

"Ring out the bells again

Like we did when spring began

Wake me up when September ends"

Clark walked into the diner. A slow, sad song played over the static.

"Here comes the rain again

Falling from the stars

Drenched in my pain again

Becoming who we are"

Alfred sat in the kitchen, listening to the Carrie play the song Bruce had loved so much.

"As my memory rest

But never forgets what I lost

Wake me up when September ends

"Summer has come and passed

The innocent never last

wake me up when September ends

"Like my father's come to pass

Twenty years has gone so fast

Wake me up when September ends

Wake me up when September ends

Wake me up when September ends"
