Natsu has always known his feelings for Lucy. He loved seeing Lucy smile. He loved seeing Lucy happy. He loved seeing her peaceful expression. She always seem so peaceful and filled with energy. However, one incident concluded for him that when his chosen mate was asleep, she looks the most peaceful and without a doubt, happy.
This incident started out when a storm decided to hit magnolia. Natsu, being the ever 'thoughtful' guy, decided to use the excuse that he can keep his partner warm since there's a storm going on, to sleep on his blond partner's comfy bed. With this in mind, the fire Mage made his way to his favorite apartment on strawberry street. When he reached the apartment, he jumped into the room ,where his partner was currently sleeping, with the finesse that he had acquired from the many missions and training.
Trying to make as little noise as possible, Natsu made his way towards the sleeping beauty. As Natsu was about to slip in to the bed, he paused at the sight of Lucy.
'Wow, she looks so peaceful…and beautiful.'Even in the midst of the storm, his partner still managed to look so peaceful. She looked like a goddess with the storm flashing behind her. It was then that he decided that his mate, albeit she doesn't know about it yet, is the most peaceful when she sleeps. He reached out a hand to lightly trace her features. After a few moments of tracing her soft, flawless face, Natsu decided to go to bed. Gently lifting the covers, he slipped in to the space beside Lucy and wrap an arm around her waist. Finally, he was at his mate's side.
'I will have to remove my arm before Lucy wakes up in the morning or she'll scream at me.'He thought before finally giving in to the inviting arms of sleep, not before letting a satisfied smile form on his lips thinking that he has successfully infiltrated Lucy's apartment.
However, what Natsu failed to realised is that Lucy has awoke from her sleep when she heard the window open. She had felt Natsu tracing her face and slipping into her bed. She had also felt his strong arm position itself on her waist. Usually, she would have freaked out and scream at him. But this is not usually, she did not scream at him and instead let him do as he please because she has decided a long time ago that she had fallen in love with a pink haired idiot known as Natsu. That thought in mind, she snuggled into his warm body and fell back into sleep with a happy smile on her face. With that, the two soon to be lovers fell into a deep sleep not caring about the roaring storm outside.
