Cross Academy was a strange place...
People here spoke to her, even though she tucked herself away in the deepest, darkest corner she could find. She didn't want to talk, she wasn't interested in making friends.
She was here to find him. The hunter, who was now a vampire. Who killed his own kind. Who no longer risked falling to Level E. Kiryuu Zero.
The night was comfortable, as it always was for her. Not painfully blinding as the day was, and pleasantly cool on her skin. He would be out here, she knew. he would be patrolling the area around the school, between the dorms, searching out trouble makers. Well, she supposed that was exactly what she was right now.
The knife was in her hands in a flash of precious silver, blood spurting in a delicate crimson spray. She didn't cut deep, she just wanted the scent to catch the air. To bring him to her. Her tongue peaked out from between her pointed teeth, lapping at her lacerated wrist like a kitten at a bowl of milk. The sweet, intoxicating taste of blood was nothing new to her, and drinking her own blood gave her little satisfaction, but still her eyes fluttered closed as she savoured the addicting flavour.
Zero appeared but a moment later, standing no more than five feet away, with his Bloody Rose drawn in his hand. She blinked up at him from where she was seated on the side of the fountain, long black lashes veiling eyes of a vibrant violet colour. She said nothing as he stood there, the two of them apparently sizing eachother up.
When Kiryuu Zero looked at the woman across from him he was struck by a strong sense of foreboding. Something about this girl reminded him of a venomous snake, slithering through the grass. She didn't look like a snake. She was pale, even for a vampire, and her long hair was tousled and deep black. She was beautiful, he supposed, since all vampires were. But there was something serpentine to her movements, so slow and steady they seemed to blur in his vision, like she was in slow motion. But then her tongue flicked out and she resumed cleaning her bloodied wrist, fangs glinting in the dappled glow of the moon.
"Are you alright?" he asked quietly, breaking the silence. He didn't withdraw his gun.
"I've had worse." she replied, in a voice that was smoky and sensual. Startling for him, as he'd expected a snake hiss. "Kiryuu Zero, I presume?" she asked, lowering her now healed wrist and training her piercing eyes on his face.
Zero scowled, "Yes, and you are?" His eyes were narrowed suspiciously, why did she know him? What did she want?
"Kuroi Kiba." she replied easily, and he couldn't see whether it was a lie or not. "I have something to ask of you."
His eyes narrowed further, accusing slits of pale lilac. "And what might that be?" he growled.
"I need you to help me find Kuran Kaname."
