They share a moment.

It's a little awkward, being left alone together after everything that's happened but they both knew it was a long time coming. The goodbyes are inevitable though both wish that it was just a "see you later", a promise of tomorrow.

But she can't and he won't.

He's married now. Not to her. And for a moment. This moment. The thought runs through their minds and a great sense of loss falls on them both.

"Don't be a stranger". She has so much to say, words she can't find that have played through her mind over the last 10 years of their partnership. Every missed opportunity and broken moments flash before them. She swallows, licks her lips and silence. He nods, a piece of them both breaking away. And he returns to his wife. Words left unvoiced hang in the air.
