Most of the auditorium was empty a far cry from moments before. When it was packed tightly as sardines in a tin can.
She had lost. She had been certain she had first place in her hands.
The shiny bright blue ribbon, that for some strange reason was not in her grasp. The second place ribbon just didn't do justice. The first place ribbon had been given to someone else.
The little girl narrowed her eyes justice would be served.
Warrick looked over at Catherine. "So was justice served?"
"What do you think?"
"First place was mine and you stole it."
"I didn't steal anything. I won it fair and square."
"Liar!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Am too!"
Nick stared as Catherine shrugged. "Well what did you expect, we were still in grade five."
Nick grinned as Warrick laughed.
"So how was justice served?
"I ruined his project," Catherine explained.
"Sore loser much?" Warrick asked.
"Probably ticked him off too," Nick added.
"Probably did but were friends now," Catherine replied.
"Friends?" Nick asked bewildered.
"You destroy his science fair project and your friends?" Warrick asked.
"Well he did forgive me," Catherine said with a slight smile.

"The volcano?" Sara asked puzzled.
Grissom nodded. "Didn't you ever participate in a science fair?"
Sara shrugged. "Never had them when I was growing up."
Grissom shooked his head. "There was one when I was in grade five, I won first place."
"That doesn't surprise me," Sara said dryly.
"Well the girl who won second place, knock over my ant colony and stamped all over them," Grissom explained.
Sara stared.
Grissom shrugged. "We became friends later on."
"You became friends?"
Grissom nodded.
"She destroyed your science project," Sara pointed out.
"Well we both were in grade five. Two kids who love science and both wanted first place."
"You got first place through."
"Well bugs always win," Grissom said with a hint of a smile on his lips, before walking off.
Sara stared at him befuddled.

"I'm surprised he forgave you," Nick added.
"Forgive and forget Nick," Grissom replied.
Warrick grinned. "Come on Nick."
Nick nodded and follows Warrick out the door.
"The volcano story?"
Catherine smiled. "Of course."
"Well at least he forgave her right?"
"Most of the time," Catherine added with a grin.
