Never in a Million Years
(A/N: This is a SkulkerxTechnus oneshot.)
Summary: One night, Skulker asks Technus out on a date. His reply: "Never in a million years." So Skulker comes back and asks again a million years later. "Your million years are up."
It was a dark and cool night. A 32 year old scientist lay on his back on the grass, in a park in the ghost zone. This part of it looked like the human world, with the black night sky and cool breeze. (A/N: So there's no such park in the ghost zone. I'm makin' this up!) He sighed contentedly as he placed his arms behind his head. Suddenly a large, brooding figure blocked his vision of the silver moon.
"What do you want?" he snapped. "You're blockin' my moonlight."
Skulker chuckled, lying down next to him in the grass. The other ghost didn't object. They lay in silence for hours. It seemed both men had extreme amounts of patience. They gazed at the night sky, a sigh escaping from one every few minutes. Skulker thought about what he was going to say and how he was gonna go about saying it.
He glanced over at the scientist when he wasn't looking. He eyed his slender body, green eyes roving over his slim waist, pale green throat and face. There was something oddly attractive about him. His legs were visible now, and he longed to stroke one. 'Whoa now, Skulker. Don't get perverted,' he thought to himself. Then he sighed and sat up, turning fully to face the other ghost.
"Technus, will you date me?"
The green skinned ghost turned shocked ruby eyes to Skulker's hard but gentle green ones. The question in his eyes was clear.
"What the hell, Skulker? Did the silence get to you or something?" he asked, blinking in confusion.
"No!" he shouted indignantly. Then he blushed.
'What the hell…?' Technus thought. 'He can blushNow I've seen everything!'
He continued to bluish when Technus kept staring at him with his amazing red eyes. He didn't like being scrutinized so closely. The scientist asked, "David, are you…gay?"
Skulker was shocked he knew his real name. "Y-yes. Yes I am."
Technus just kept shaking his head, feeling like laughing but sensitive of the now vulnerable man's feelings. When had Skulker, the fierce and cold Danny hunter, become this shy, uncertain, vulnerable man?
"Skulker, I'm sorry. I'm not gay."
Skulker looked crushed. Technus almost regretted rejecting him, but it had to be done. He couldn't lie and say he liked him, or was attracted to him. Although he did have a nice, big muscular body, and he was…handsome, in his own burly, fierce way and what the hell was he thinking!? He shouldn't think about Skulker that way. He wasn't gay, he wasn't! His inner self told him, 'Yeah, keep on telling yourself that.' growl'Shut up!' There was the sound of an eep in his head. 'I've gottaget an…well, a good afterlife. I think I'm going crazy.'
"Technus," Skulker started gently, taking his green hands in his, "will you date me?"
Something inside of Technus snapped. He didn't need to be touched. No one ever touched him. "Never in a million years!" he shouted, pushing Skulker away.
….A millions years later….
Skulker had waited a million years for this. His heart hardened and all he thought about was his one desire to bind Technus to him by his promise. Well, to him it'd been a promise. So here he was, a million years later, standing at the door of Technus' mansion. He rang the doorbell.
"Who is it?"
"Will you date me?"
"I told you—"Your million years are up!"
The door was knocked down and Skulker dragged Technus' mouth to his. When he let go, Technus muttered, "Maybe I should create a number longer than infinity…"
End
(A/N: So, did you like it? Be honest. R&R plz! )
